Love to watch a lurcher bringing shot ducks back from water.....IMO it's just one more step to being a true all-rounder....great pics guys, keep em coming!

I know, the poor dog was terrible, but it still needs more weight on it. Pups should not be 'toned' IMO, they should have puppy fat on them. A pup that is starved and under weight cannot develop properly as it's body is constantly struggling to find enough nutrient to grow......This pups on some decent food gain puppy an sap mr nancy sorry darcy three times a day its called being in good fettle decent walks decent food too toned give ya head a shake Look, if you cannot see that the pup is too thin you shouldn't have dogs. I'm only thinking of the dogs welfare. And three meals a day of gain

Old Trap collector has just text me to say that he can't reply right now, but he will do so with a full explanation as soon as he's able to.

I disagree. If you mix treats and retrieves the pup will soon stop carrying to hand and will instead just run back for its treat. They do not reason like humans. Treats should be used for recall only, once the carrying starts there should be no treats as by that time the recall should be programmed deep in the dogs brain. but thats JMHO.

I don't think you understand. I am not referring to the physical aspects of your pup, but the mental aspects.
-
IMO do not throw that ball more than once a day at the most and the pup is far too young for rabbits. If you want the retrieve you need to have the dog mature enough to obey the recall. Good luck.

Great footage. I'd say there's been a hell of alot more fighting going on prior to the film. Over here in the UK I've seen red deer after the rut that have taken a big beating. They just lay down and die, unable to move and thoroughly exhausted!

Maybe the americans have better traps to use than this? Maybe there just wasn't the demand?
-
That's put paid to your application to build a housing estate then. Unless of course you have plenty of brown envelopes or wear a goatskin apron. Haha, I wish mate. The only Brown envelopes I have normally say Final Demand in big red letters on them. Are those newts in an aquarium? Always amazes me what people have as hobbies. Is there anyone else on here who keeps newts (or anything else for that matter ) to release back into the wild I have loads of newts in my pond ,mostly common smooth ones but the odd palmate and a few alpines . A few years ago I kept a couple of smooth newts

I used to breed all the species of UK newt at one time. I

It's a chaffinch......let it go again and it will be ok.

Brilliant idea.....

I am not being self righteous . Personally I don't care what adults get up to with other adults . The problem is for politicians is that behaviour like this leaves them open to extortion and blackmail . Also is it too much to ask that the people who are making decisions that affect our lives and are employed by us arnt taking drugs ? I wasn't actually pointing the finger at you mate.........just talking generally...... But you have highlighted a good point about drugs & what is socially acceptable in society........... .....if it was found he was drinking half a bottle of good qual

Experience Of Fox's With Fac Air?
J Darcy replied to jonnie bravo's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Ineffective and not suitable. Get a proper rifle if you must shoot foxes. -
It looks like a young smooth newt ...the palmate is the only other Uk newt that it could be confused with but there's no tail filament...

I disagree Gnasher, and I should think quite a few more will. To me a dog is not just 'property', its a family member. I would go a little further, and , in my own situation, dogs are my life.

This NEEDS pinning so we don't loose this internet classic gold!

Ireland Is Revolting,.......but The People Are Sweet Lol
J Darcy replied to jigsaw's topic in General Talk
So do the Welsh and the Scots. In fact, the English are the only ones in the UK to pay for water or prescriptions. NI, Wales and Scotland get them free at English expense ! Aye but that will change very very soon IMO............. -
From several decades of lurcherwork, the conclusion I've come to is; the shit ones are shit and the good ones die........ It sure is a swine, but that's working dogs for you....you've just got to keep on keeping on....

Until SNP do another referendum, and then scotland is it's 'own' country.....from that moment on it will be the curtains for Labour as a party that can achieve anything at all...
-
Labour are shafted for the forseeable future...SNP have seen to that. the only way labour is going to get anywhere is some kind of pact with the SNP. I hope Labour go left as the further left they go the further away from their chances of gaining power.

IMO that's a major problem with our politics. There's too often very little thought applied to a stance other than "Well those fuckers over there said it's black, so we had better say it's white!". He does seem a man of principle though, which is lacking. He's too left wing to do the party any good.......... so I hope he wins, LOL. yeh he comes over like that ,I have voted labour up to the 70s when the unions got you good wage for weeks work, good h/s , and just better working conditions in general . but after thatcher crushed unions from the miners strike etc , for me there was n
