  1. I've been back out this morning. Just got in. The rut here is over. I watched a doe for a good while, but there was no bucks in attendance.....I presume they're getting some rest.
  2. Stop being nasty. Go and get that red badger lined. If you can drag Leroy off her.
  3. I've seen loads mate. I videoed the treble, but maybe tomorrow I will take a pic and post it up. I know a few places where roe run figure of eights every year and have done so for about a decade or so..... The unusual thing about the double i found today that it was just in long grass and not around a tree or shrub./ It's the first one I have found that was not around anything.
  4. Anyone found any this year? I have found a treble one, the first one I've ever seen or heard of in my life. Like a figure of 8 with an extra loop on. Also the same doe has made a double one about 400 yards away, I saw it tonight . The doe is being pursued by two young, almost immature , bucks , that are quite possibly only 2 years old. I know where there;s several double rings, but has anyone ever seen a treble?
  5. You know nothing about bows. They are not designed to kill with shock energy. Arrows can be used to take much bigger game than a thin skinned lion, eg eland, cape buffalo etc. Many of the lion bowkills I have seen on video have complete pass throughs, the heart and lungs being perforated. You cannot compare bullets and broadheads, they are two different animals. Upon a shot from a bow it is expected for the animal to run for 15-20 seconds until the blood stops the heart/lungs working and the animal falls over in a faint through loss of blood/oxygen to the brain. As in all shooting, it i
  6. Hi TimmyK, the DSC is not mandatory. Some forces like you to have it but it is not a legal stipulation. You're doing the right thing gaining experience, just don't get ripped off as there's lots of unscrupulous people out there that will charge you the earth for nothing. What area are you in? There might be a member that is willing to take you out for free if you buy them breakfast ....
  7. try and read the "Contest to kill 100 people using a sword" mukai and noka i think it was, their scores were published weekly in a tokyo newspaper. Didn't they have to go on to 'extra time' due to the close scores.....
  8. THIS is animal abuse ..... How can THIS be a mistake? Come on buddy, let's not make excuses for THIS. Is THIS the correct way? Of course not, so let's not defend THIS. We are offering advice, that's all. It's not a personal attack, but advice on the welfare of a pup. Yes, there is a right and a wrong way, or course there is. And this picture illustrates the wrong way. Let's not argue about it, the pup is in extremely poor condition in the photo. I'm glad that the pup is heavier, but it's hardly fat and it still needs MORE weight on it. But it's each to their own.......
  9. I think that the yanks had invested so much money in those bombs that they would have been gutted if they couldn't find an excuse to use them! But I don't disagree with it, in fact, I think it saved many lives of the non-japanese....
  10. Ginger French once told me that he was the pilot who dropped the bomb
  11. I think it boils down to disneyfied westerners do not understand how africa works..... like I said on the other thread; how else is the Lion, and other game species, going to survive once it doesn't have a value? Anyone got any suggestions?
  12. The japs were also Kings of brutal killings. They seemed to relish in cruelty. They were also hypocritical, all that talk of No Surrender was a load of old tripe. As soon as they realised they couldn't win they soon surrendered. So much for sending young men out on Kamikazi missions, when their generals and emperor were cowards. The jap cruelty is kept in the shadow of what happened to the jews.....even though it is on a different scale .....and I wonder why....
  13. A nice detailed post....BUT....who is going to protect the lion as a species when they loose their sport-hunted value.? If that lion was 13 years old he was right at the very, very end of his life and there's no way he will have had control over a pride at that age. Why not harvest him to raise revenue to help conserve all the other game species in the area? I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that it is hunters that care more about game species than anyone else, BUT there is one particular item you've forgotten and thats habitat. When the conservancy area is denude of value, then w

  15. The japanese killed far more people than did the nazis, some estimate to be over 5 times as many! .I would also say that they probably used more terror. Have a look at the facts, you'll be shocked.... just one tiny atrocity: the Manila massacre...
  16. Astra's are superb. Got 243,000 out of my last one. I've had citroen and I rate them, I think they're a great motor. The fords I wouldn't touch with a bargepole, I have had two and they were both crap! I guess our opinions all vary because cars vary and one man's 'good little runner' is the next mans 'money pit'...it's all a gamble....
  17. Looking nice. Should grow another inch or two....
  18. Yes, it looks better than before, but it could hardly look worse could it. To be honest, it's animal abuse having a puppy like that one was. I am right in so much as the pup needs more food. If some fool is trying to feed his dog from the back of a sack of dog food then I think it sums it all up. It tells me a lot about someone when they let their pup get in that state to start off with. I feel so sorry for the pup.....
  19. Have a look at Alex Brittingham....very very hot lady!
  20. OK , you know best. I take it you're a young lad. I was the same once, I wouldn't listen. I've owned saluki crosses all my life, maybe longer than you have been alive, and in my experience that dog is too thin. Why argue about it, just do something about it. Don't be dragged into the bullcrap of rushing a pup and boasting about how lean it looks and how toned it looks and how 'forward' it is. It's a pup. if you rush it you will ruin it. Don't forget, the dog was a walking skeleton not many weeks ago..... Have some respect for the pup.
