  1. It was a different Arthur. The original Arthur went bankrupt about a dozen years ago. The guys who took over from him were very good people. I really liked them and I hope things work out for them in the future. Always sad when something like this happens.
  2. Total pish,if you cannot jack a Saluki hybrid you will never find enough graft for a proper bred Collie/cur.Ive owned and worked both types for "3" decades now, geez i bent and bruised them at times, the Saluki hybrids skulked and sulked when they got taxed, the Collie/curs took it in their stride, fed, rested, then went around again. You must have owned Hancock or Otley bred herding bred. Its naive to even talk about jacking a dog, nuggets jack dogs, others work them within their limitations, for year after year after year, even a decade or 2,not the same dog mind, ill leave that to the bull owners that a

  9. The thing is; some rabbit populations are, on average, easier to catch than others. Around here you're doing well to catch 75% of what you run. Other places I would expect to catch 90%+ of what I ran. Yes, the terrain can play a part, but there are differing qualities of rabbit. IMO.
  10. Hi, Full framers are miles ahead of 7D's and 1/500 is far too fast. More like 1/200 or less. Depends on what you want. The servo cannot focus in the dark or when trying to follow a lamp. JMHO. p.s, have a go and post your results....good luck. :victory:
  11. I always thougth that the 'real' Mc Nab had to be poached......
  12. They are more effective than fenns, in fact, I'd say that the 55 is more effective than the 110 or the 116 on squirrels.
  13. I'm using them and they are superb. Got mine from JohnB at fourteenacre I have used them quite a bit and have only ever had head/neck strikes. A proper nice piece of kit.
  14. A good start. Just don't expect the pup to see squatters, they don't know what they're looking for. I always concentrate on rabbits that are sat upright/hopping when starting a pup. The squatters will come in time.... :victory: Best of Luck with the dog...
  15. I've just got in. The moon was fairly full but the cloud covered it. Rain and a bit of wind, not a bad night when alls said and done.
  16. I reckon within the next decade there'll be many places in the Uk with no rabbits at all. My areas going that way, and has been in a steady decline for thirty years. Better to have loved and lost............
