    I've done a hell of a lot of exploring and rooting about in the UK and there's only one place I know where all six species of deer can be seen on the same land. (In the wild).There's also fox, hare and rabbits there too, so that would be the nearest place to a lurchermans paradise. Of course, catching them is different from seeing them. :thumbs: The British Isles ain't a big place...'specially so for a keen man and an even keener dog....

    The Dales have been in decline for 20 years. You think back to the mid 90's, there as a huge area that lifted with rabbits both day and night. From over Lancashire way, south to fewston and right across to the Wolds, the place was heaving with them. Then the hot spots started getting smaller and the area started contracting. I know the places where we were going in the late 90's hardly have a rabbit on the place.......This was long before the snow of 2010...... Something else is affecting them and I really don't know what. There's less dog men than ever and the rabbits are more immune to m

    Theres a Hoopoe on his knee, a Greater spotted woodpecker hung up next to a Ruff. I can't make out the others. The ones on the floor are Black grouse and Grey partridge...

    Good pick. Is she the white bitch in your new book? Like the look of her well put together animal. Is she buddy bred?? Hi, no she is, i believe, lurcher to lurcher. I keep forgetting to ask the exact breeding though! No buddy in her matey.... She is a great runner on the lamp and she don't miss many. In fact, she's one of those dogs that seems to catch rabbits in places she has no business to! She comes over here lamping one night a week, and has done for a couple of years, so I've seen her catch a fair bit of tackle...a good honest bitch.

    Do not use on collie based dogs. In fact, if you do not understand the dosages I would not use it on a dog yourself. It is liscenced for Guinea Pigs but not dogs in the Uk...

    I took my mates bitch out last night and she caught 5/5. That's good going for local rabbits as they're rockets. When I went to the Dales with me pup he caught 23 on the bounce....

    Hopefully there'll be three in the series. This first one written by myself, mainly tales of poaching over the years. The next one is going to be a compilation of articles and the third one i'm thinking about doing is a bit of a photo book. Should look nice huddled up on the bookshelf together! I'm posting these books today..... So anyone who's ordered them should start getting them through the post over the next couple of days. When they're sold out, they're sold out!
