  1. Doubtful, in actual fact the opposite is true with Talpex types. The weaker the spring the quicker it fires. The Talpex is so well made that I guess there springs will last a lifetime and still be effective....
  2. She has access to acres of grass and we have done raw and packet food. She is now on Arden Grange at he moment which seems to help, I have another lurcher who is he thieving git and will eat everything left around or not locked away and he is healthy so if she ate anything he would have had it first. There's something you can try. It's a long shot, but why not feed her a couple of ginger biscuits three times a day. What will that do????? Ginger biscuits can have a settling effect on a dogs stomach. It's worth a go if everything else has been tried. IMO.

  4. Personally I think that the dog 'wants' to be sick. Maybe give her a little more access to green grass and I'd also change her diet to raw if she isn't on that already.....
  5. Surely the whole sorry affair is proof that there is no God? For if there were a God then 'he' would have never allowed such activity in his name..... Seems to me that religion is an excuse to inflict suffering and oppression on others.
  6. Here's a little bit of food for thought: I've lamped a place local to me for as long as I can remember. My Uncle took me there and I inherited it from him. There were a couple of other lads going on there as well, but only messers with shit dogs. By the time Chritmas had been and gone all the bunnys were lamp shy as hell and you rarely got two runs in the same field. In the end it was hardly worth the trip, but you know what it's like when you're keen. I had a dog called Jack at the time and he was fairly Ok at the dazzling game, but the bag on this patch was down to one or two at the most,
  7. determination in man and dog will always bring sport everytime.its been a funny old season certain nights its been like every other night there every were then other nights its been shite but if you can handle a lamping hangover for work the next day you will always find ,jesus some mornings im still asleep on my feet at work till about 10 then i can shake it of just lol It's worse when you get home for 9am...having driven since 9PM!! Solidly. Then even though you're as tired as hell you can't sleep as your mind won't slow down. So after tossing and turning for two hours you go and get the
  8. The only way with truly lampshy bunnies is to sneak to where their sanctuary is and lamp them from there........ That said......On the truly bad windy nights when it's hard to stand up, there won't be many lampshy bunnys.......
  9. I've had a decent season. A winter's what you make it. At least the ground wasn't too hard and the frost never stopped play. The only thing that slowed down was lamping as the ground was a bit noisy from mid december through to the end of jan, but I've still managed 51 nights out lamping so far this season, maybe a couple more before I pack in for the season. Managed to take some nice piccys and visit some great areas with fantastic views. Had a bloody good laugh along the way, which is more important than ever these days.
  10. They are all for 'freedom of speach' as long as it is something they agree with. IMO the teacher should be sacked.
  11. IMO rabbits and hares will be even less next season. Foxes will be the same and deer will be on the up.
  12. I think some are getting mixed up between wild boar and feral pigs......
  13. I like to feed mine a raw diet, plenty of variety and with a little bit of mixer to make a change.
  14. Aye, it's easy. All you got to do is buy a good camera and point it and that does the rest. :D I'd post some old deer coursing pics, but I need 'em.....
  15. It will be interesting to see if the RSPCA will take a private prosecution out against the police.
  16. Just replying to your message. Just a short question. Was it just a business relationship between Phillip and yourself, i.e. Fox hunting or did a friendship develop? Many people have mentioned it to myself before regarding is so-called miserable nature. But I never found that to be the case. Some of the old boys involved with hounds came from the old school attitude towards people, and you could never change them. However, I respect people and treat people in way I'd be expected to be treated. When was your involvement with him and was you doing the terrier work at the York and Anisty South un
  17. An oldie, but goldie....
  18. Lutra, I helped doing the terriers for him for a few seasons, so I was hardly a stranger.....! The huntsman before him was John Smith and he was a top bloke! IMO a Huntsman has to be friendly and approachable, it is part of his job as the ambassador for the hunt. JMHO.........
  19. Lutra...Phil Watts move to the Y&A North. He never did much smiling .
  20. 15 registered ones in the UK...but many pirate packs....
  21. Who said anything about using them. And, the spring on the WCS is identical in both UK and US versions. I have both versions here in front of me.... The WCS could be made legal by 5 minutes of welding and it would be fit for purpose in the UK. Kill bars are the only difference. But, hey, thanks for pointing it out. :victory:
  22. I like this piccy.....my pride and joy out and about.
  23. This is W Katchum's bitch just lining herself up for yet another bunny in the bag......
