I know very well this isnt the case with everyone at shows,,but a number of years ago i was at the Great Yorkshire Show ,a lot of the well known terrier men were also in attendance,i was into black rough coated fell terriers at the time. Anyway i got talking to this chap with one of the best looking and put together black fells i had seen for some time,he claimed it had won at this and that show and he may be selling it as he had done it all with it,I said "i may be interested in buying it and had it done any work ?"...............he replied "its to good looking to work you need a rough/scr

Most dogs start of having a piss in the squat position as they mature they start to cock a leg occasionally then nearly all the time, some dogs start to scratch their legs on the floor and flick soil, they are just marking their territory the flicking soil just throws their sent over a wider more noticeable area for others to smell. Ive had this issue before its a case of catching them mid squirt or before if you think they are going to do it,just try and brake the habit before it becomes one,,,,,,,otherwise its a cage or outside no way will you your wife or kids will put up with yellow stai

i have owned various types of terrier over the years, from all over the country some good some bad, some iron hard some real soft, but my heart lies with a good working jack russell not the little snivelers you see pretending to be a russell down at the corner shop. i only use them for bolting foxes which they do most times without a nip, very very occasionally you get a bit of a dig.the russell in the snow is a before and after photo.

It sound like she has been sickened with running rabbits that she has no chance of catching,ie to close to a hedge or warren and time and time again they have beaten her and escaped.i understand she is only young and still has time on her side, try ferreting only this season with her,and i can only wish you the best of look with her.
-
i know what you have just said but it sounds like she has not seen the rabbit you are slipping her on,A lot of dogs if reved up for a nights lamping will run out into the field when slipped go so far then turn around when they cant see anything,it sounds like what your bitch is doing. The next time you go out keep her on the slip for a few rabbits to run off,try and run her on some shortish grass fields with an obvious rabbit moving, remember her line of sight is lower than yours so a slight incline or hump on the ground could stop her from sighting the rabbit....ps take her out on her own she

deep digs fact or fiction,,,,,,,,,,if you have worked terriers for a few years ,you would know the answer yourself. My deepest dig just over 16 ft,went back to car to get my camera came back five minutes later and the hole had collapsed in,,i was very lucky not to be killed. On a different note it was in the days of the old clicker boxes,it could not pick up the dog at that depth, however i could hear the dog steadily baying with my ear to the ground. at 16 feet deep who are yea supermanno superman..just someone with more exerience, did you know sound travels further in different types of soil

A good friend of mine has a beddy/greyhound its just reached 24itts ,its not a powerfull type of dog more lightly built its a decent lamper and good mooching dog,its about two years old now. However if he knocks on my door anymore at 7am asking me to skin bambi we will fall out....Joking apart it punches above its weight and is a shining example of what beddy/greyhounds are capable of.

Coursing bred lurcher Benji/splodge breeding which has lamped thousands of rabbits over the years,if a dog was performing well at its job i wouldnt be blinkered with similar types, sometimes an out cross could improve a strain.

coursing bred dogs can and do rabbit/lamp...so it was a fair answer
