Did you take note of the sex of the foxes,? last night i saw three foxes chasing in a crazed way one fox . Around they went out of sight then back again this went on for hours , i,m guessing it was dog foxes after an in season vixen. I have often dug to 2/3 foxes in one earth 1/2 males and 1 vixen . i,m guessing this is what you stumbled on.

There is the big question, if a greyhound or full saluki was raised in the field as a working lurcher would they turn out acceptable.? I can only comment on my experience,i had a greyhound bitch 2 year old from Belle Vue greyhounds, it ran hares rabbits ok recall was fair, it tended to go out to far from you 400yds or so all the time ,that was its fault. The dog came heavily muscled and looked a powerfull bitch,she would only run one good hare then that was it she was over and done. Seen plenty of dogs return their catch a few feet or so from their owner then drop them , if the quarry is dead its fine , If retrieved unharmed they run of and a re catch is required , i presume you you are only running the one dog when it is carrying back ? . there are,nt many dogs that will carry straight back to the owner with another on a lead ,the dog could think its returning its catch to another dog. I would first try facing the dog and walking backwards and calling the dog when it gets close with its catch,this should make the dog come in a bit closer to you . i presume your not lo

Out coursing one day down in Wainfleet I was out with two Pakistanis (really good dog men)it was nearing the end of our day and we were heading back to the motor, we were about a mile away when we spotted the police parked up behind us,they had obviously seen us and were watching us. Glodwick is a no go area to the white people of oldham its just not safe to enter the police and fire brigade arent keen on entering it either,i remember a number of hoax calls to the police and fire brigade when they went to investigate their vehicles were stoned and smashed up. I had a terrier years a go ,it had its top jaw broken in half in an accident, Took it to the vets says its going to cost thousands to treat,then it may not be right,he asked if i had pet insurance. I didnt have pet insurance,he did mend it and bill was under 400.00p ,the dog still worked to ground , I think pet insurance charges have helped increase the cash paying charges.

A friend of mine is currently having this issue resolved ,he owns firearms as does his wife all the guns are in the same cabinet. The problem is he/she is not allowed to have access to the gun cabinet/firearms and as you are the only person who is supposed to know the keys location,so problem being two sets of keys both people with access to each others firearms. I will let you know the eventual outcome.

Nostalgia and net curtains,,,,,well we lived in a terraced house and every winter the net curtains would stick and freeze to the ice on our bedroom window, We had to wait for them to thaw before we could see out of the window again, Nostalgia no thanks give me central heating any day.

If i remember correctly mine was one of the old time deerhound/bedlington/greyhound crosses that everyone used for coursing at the time crossed with a saluki Chris Quinlan owned im sure it was Deacon. That pup grew into my first coursing dog.

I asked how Lucas was bred and never got any responce,i was gifted a pup from a well bred bitch benji and captain bred put directly to Lucas, None of the litter were up to much ,i personally felt Lucas was a one of dog, i know some of his pups can kill reasonably well,but never herd of one as yet with the wow factor.

If i have permission i like to start about 11pm ish,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if my dog has given me permission i wont lamp till 1am , I have been visited by farmers and police on my permission a number of times,,,,,,with my dogs permission after 1am i have never had any bother. Regarding rabbits ie quantity and distance from safety i have found that any time after first darkness there is not much difference,however about an hour before daylight in the winter the fields empty.
