  1. My vet told me years ago when you get a new pup from someone to keep it for a week before getting it inoculated. Now i thought doing it asap would be best,The vets said "wait a week to see if pup is fit and healthy first."
  2. LOOK WHAT I GOT BACK. Thank you for your comments. I totally oppose hunting with dogs and always have. I will vote against repealing the hunting ban should the Tory government waste time and bring this issue back to Parliament again. Write back to him and ask did he get elected on a oppose hunting ticket or was it to represent his constituents report his letter to the local Selection commity as he appears to have got elected to implement his own agenda as he says in the totally oppose hunting with dogs and always have, so its assumed when the Ban is repealed he will of course resign o

  4. Hate it when people write salukie lol instead of the proper spelling saluki Nothing wrong with a hair coarsing salukie! Who cares if some people on this site spell the odd word wrong its a hunting site not an a level test site. I would much rather people participated than abstained for fear of ridicule over their spelling.
  5. Are the lines consistent,or is it any old grey and collie cur drafted in to produce pups? when i spoke to him he said "some of his border/beardies are related going back some years...the greyhounds are from anywhere" whilst the greyounds still have the hunt chase, kill instinct in them even if off a track, the collie hybrids have not worked for years surley they cant have the drive herding instinct and general working farm bred collie. i had a 3/4 greyhound collie from him 17 years ago it was a good dog,it got old and i purchased another to replace it,...When i went to collect it it was
  6. This is what i run,if something not correct let me know. Not named the lucas pup as yet,Mask and Razzle line where it stands today obviously ongoing.
  7. becouse most are sal crosses from syria Do you mean greyhound crosses? yes some arabs inport greys from ireland for breeding I know for a fact an arab prince with some fancy sounding name asked for a genuine first cross greyhound/whippet,he paid a fair price for the dog and carriage,it took a few months to sort out but a dog was finally sent out. What he intended to do with it we never asked or became aware..
  8. Very funny Tomo,i was looking for a lurcher in the pictures, those dogs look like they could,nt put a bend in on a pet shop tortoise.
  9. Last summer i was driving down a very bendy single track country lane it had thick hedges on either side, anyway 100yds in front of me three men were walking in the road, they looked like farmer types ,when they saw me they started to try get through the hedge but it was to thick. I thought why were they panicking when they saw a car heading towards them ? I knew i had caught them up to something. When i got to them they they tried to turn away from me and conceal a very life like "BLOW UP DOLL"
  10. I never thought i would see the day the hunting ban would be repealed its starting to look like it WILL HAPPEN ,i must tell my lads we can go hunting/coursing again ,
  11. This cross wouldnt suit me,half greyhound half alsation, to be honest i think it looks like an alsation of the 1930/40s before the breed deformities had established themselves.
  12. WhateverAye we know you'd send the wife and you'd hide under the bed. I thought burglars broke into the toilets in South Africa,
  13. The book title cant be right,,,,,still a few hundred possibly thousand english poachers still around,,,i think its one of the true english traditions not taken over by the immigrants.
  14. Have you tried mishoo on the dog ?? it works sometimes.
  15. Last night i visited lurcher man who attended the houses of parliament on numerous occasions to argue the case for lurcher hunting and coursing,(to no avail)he seems very upbeat we could could see hunting returned. Its now or never.
  16. I agree to what you say but on a slightly cynical note if lacs and certain boddies of the rspca where happy with what hunting was banned, they would all be out of a job so as long as some kind of field sports exists they will turn their attention to banning that.
  17. If your having problems,,,, put the dog on a long line,,,,20 meteres or longer in a field ,,and keep recalling it every few mins,,, make sure you use the same command all the time,,, if it doesn't come to you on its own gently pull it in,,, then praise and repeat,,, and repeat,, and repeat try changing the dogs name and recal it with a new one,,it could have become acustomed to just ignoring its old name
  18. I hope the conservatives do stick to their word and take the repeal vote to parliament,i think coursing could come back but under some sort of self regulating rules, possibly have to be a lurcher coursing club member, and run to a set of agreed rules, lets wait and hope something happens, On a different note i have been taking one of my lads out with me from the age of five he is now fourteen ,i commented when we were out for a "walk" maybe we should keep a low profile for certain reasons,he replied "i did,nt know coursing was banned"..it still amuses me.
  19. I,ve always thought Fury puts more into and fights a lot better one he has touched the canvas,as though he realizes he is in a fight.
  20. thats a bit heavy socks, whats brought that on, When i was very young a chap was about to retire,i asked any regrets he said:"i went to work and when i came home my kids had left home" i never forgot those words and i have no regrets.
  21. remanded in custody released this week, good news.
  22. hope it works out for you sky .he was a great dog was benji and over the right bitch youd have something special on your hands this dog direct from benji cross sheara/rose bitch ,unfortunatly he passed away earlier this year ,however the line continues with his pups being crossed with oggies snatch before it also passed he also passed away, .
  23. strange question but does it have tatoos in its ears,
  24. I would love a van or pick up. I think they can attract unwanted attention though. Even just driving to and from permission. Estate cars seem to glide under the radar that bit more. NL I haven't heard that, do you reckon a dog guard would be enough if/when law changes? I know what youre saying but the dogs being visible through the back windows can be a problem, I would say vans can attract a bit of unwanted attention especially at night from a rural crime point of view which is half the problem at the moment. But pickups really are a class above most farmers have them so you blend in when
