  3. i have got permsiion on a golf course & was having a mooch today & found 2 different warrens with about 5/6 holes each i have removed everything so i can get in, how long would you leave it before you ferret it ? i was told a couple of days anybody give me a bit of advice ?? regards john
  4. appparently they was used by miners , not sure how true this is & they are also favoured by falconers ,mine are supposed to be greyhound type, the mother & father came from a guy in wales who is well known for breeding this type of ferret ( 20yrs apparently ) & my kits are from those two siblings breeding , as long as they are good workers thats all that matters i understand what you are saying , although i did want smaller type ferrets, it is how they work that matters in the end, regards john

  6. ive got two greyhound type ferrets came from a guy off another forum , these are my two my jill is very small , my hob has got a really thick winter coat at the moment so he looks bigger than he is, hopefully will slim out after a good moult ( so i have been told ) the first pic is when they where kits & the others are more recent, im happy with these two, i have only just started to work them but they are showing real promise, i originally wanted two jills but had to settle on 1 of each, im glad i did as the hob has turned out to be real gentle to handle, but fro
  7. cheers for replies,farmer will be on top of xmas cards & present list , will be treating him too a nice bottle some holes still have a lot of cover further down, i have permission on golf course as well & still cannot get in any where for cover, my mates have been shooting bunnies at night just to keep greenkeeper happy & show us face regards john
  8. only just started the season myself , havnt seen many young or any sign of mixi, rabbit population seems low though , take a camera next time mate its a must we did get a rabbit with weird teeth, but the rest was a decent size, regards john

  11. ]My jill had a litter of two kits back in August and i'm thinking of working her soon, she's in excellent condition...when would you start her. Cheers steve just started working mine mate & they are close to 6 month, only way to find out if they are ready is stick them down a hole & let nature take its course, just start them on smallish holes & be patient, good luck & let us know how you get on, regards john

  13. well chaps been looking forward to getting out with the ferrets for a while now & we been chatting for few days when to get the young ones out, anyway as last night progressed & drank more beer we discussed going out in the morning ferreting ( crazy drunken ideas eh ? ) ( Sun) 7 am van packed ferrets awake fed & into travel boxes, we decided on taking four of the six ferrets we all have two of mine & two of my new hunting partners tom & his younger brother charlie, travelled up to a new permission we had just got last week , brew with farmer & off over to the firs
  14. like your style mate my kind of guy no nonsense straight to the point, im new to ferrets ( kept them when i was a kid ) i was told never to flick them , have handled mine from day 1 perseverd with the nips now they are silly tame & its true there is that much nonsnense info being said but some good advice can be found on here it really got me confused , but you will learn who to listen too & who not,my old man ( RIP ) if he got a nippy ferret would crack an egg in a pint pot & let the ferret climb in & lick the egg, when it did he would stroke & make a fuss until

  16. yes mk3 not mk3m , can i turn it on & off with a small magnet if the magnet is missing ?
  17. bought/bid mk3 & collar & it doesnt have the magnet on box or pinpoint control should it have a magnet on keyring seperate to turn the collar on & off , if the box comes without a magnet how do i turn the collar on/off ?? can i use a magnet of my own ? could do with advice before i pay the guy for it, regards john

  20. what a waste of time my trip to the gun shop, nothing for my £120 although he could for £170 second hand cometa with scopes, i left dissapointed, the guy couldnt sort me out for less than £120 without scopes & some of the rifles ive never even heard of, so im still looking , i must be expecting too much for my money.. ah well regards john
