arranged another trip up to a pemission we havnt ferreted for a couple of months, got there late ( 10 am )as it was the works do last night , arrived on farm & set up nets after about an hour 1 bolted, but not seen my jill surface so got locator out to get a location, wierd thing i kept getting a signal near the ferret box, so i thought she isnt in there, did an about turn & tried to get a signal again, but once again signal kept showing towards the ferret box, out of curiousity i opened the box & there was my jill lol , waited about an other hour then decided to lift the nets

i dont think 8 mnths is too young, my 2 are only 6 mnths old & have had a few outings with them from 4 month old i have had a few bunnies ( 8 in total )& a couple of blanks ,im only just getting back into ferreting from a long gap .I must be blessed with my 2 as they havnt messed or sulked just seem to have took to it like ducks to water, i did all the stuff people advised me to do , i.e.running them through pipes letting them come out of the pipes/tunnel with your palm on the floor , taking them out when they was younger , handling them frequently & let them get used to the fee

i am a patient man but after 1 hr1/2 i thought it was about time i used the box , when i did get a mark on her she seemed to be going back to the same spot then after a good while she stayed in same place thats when i decided to dig , then the rabbit bolted so i stopped digging i am still learning & i apreciate your comments, i dont want to get the spade out again this season my back is in two ,so next time i will have a brew suprising how that gets the rabbits bolting regards john

Been up on mates permission this morning got on there late as im having transport problems netted up about 10 holes & put the young ferrets in, managed to get 2 & another escapee, which came walking out of the hole like he was rambling, my mate chased it down another hole & ended up dragging the net in as well but managed to escape, my Hob is coming on really well chasing them out of the hole right to the entrance, after a while i got the locator out & she seemed to have had one backed up about 5 ft down started to dig got down to about 2 ft & she must have managed to tu

ah right, I didn't realise dried food makes them fat...i'll have to stock up on the rabbits to feed em! It's down to the induvidual animals metabolism Rob much like us.I could feed 1 of my jills on dry 24/7 & she would'nt put much on,the other 2 would end up like barrels .The larger of my hobs would be like Mr Creosote "it's just a wafer thin mint!!" if i kept him on dry 24/7 lol my hob is due to spontaniously conbust due to eating one more waifer thin mint fur & feather is on the menu until warm weather comes, i am working them more, so hopefully he will slim down

Only way to know is put some in their water and see if it gets drunk,if it's diluted enough maybe they won't object to it,but would diluting it make it less effective? i dilute 1 tbl sp in bowl of water for dogs & also in a spray bottle & seems effective enough diluted ,i forgot to say that its the original ACV with the "mother" in it ( cloudy unpasturised same stuff used for hens etc )
-
ive been using ACV for ages now, for the dogs spraying meat in summer it keeps the flies away & also the fleas ( diluted in drinking water makes their skin too acidic for fleas ), it also helps stop tear stains under eyes, what i want to know is would ferrets be able to accept/tolerate this in water ( diluted obviously) as we all know in summer flies thrive on meat left out for a few hours & ACV seems to keep them away, answers on a postcard please regards john
