  2. me & my mate Tom decided to go out today even though it was freezing windy, got the farm 9 oclock & decided to do a new part which we havnt fereted before,set the nets checked locator/collars are working ( again ) & eneterd 2 ferrets within 10 mins seemed like all hell broke loose as 4 rabbits bolted consec then it went quite, my jill kept appearing from a hole so we decided to lift the nets & go home ( i am soft ass now )my hob had not been seen for a while so out the locator came & got a fix on him 2ft below us , he had 1 backed up, so i decided to dig, once we broke thr

  4. im in manchester bit far for you ,is warrington far from you as a i know a guy up there that may be able to help when i turn mine on it makes a beep type noise & red light flashes (16+), if you turn it on inside your house it will go crackers with all the metal & wires , as stubby says, video the mk3 when you turn it on & post on here someone will be able to help hope you get it sorted regards john

  6. sorry for the delay in posting again but have had an hectic few days, my son passed out of the army in Harrogate, & then as you know i suspected my jill was in season anyways i got my mate who has kept ferrets for 20 odd years & took her to a vets in chrolton & the vet agreed that she was in season & has now had the jab, she has seemed a little off today not her usual self, but i am told this is normal, caught me by suprise, i did try & take some pics but it is hard trying to get a shot of a ferrets rear with one hand holding ferret & another with the camera in hand &a
  7. thanks for your replies ,these are my first ferrets since i was young, but have got mates who have got ferrets & have seen ferrets in season & doing the buisiness, i noticed this a few days ago & mentioned it to my mate who has kept them for 20 odd years & the guy who i got them off as well has kept them for donkies years & they both agreed she looks like she is coming into season, i will stick some pics up later, regards john

Morning people been to the vets & i think im going to get a second opinion, he said that she isnt in season ( apparently its too early) i did try to explain but he was having none of it he said it is him showing interest( his balls have dropped )i did catch him this morning having a go at her thats why she looks swollen he says ,cost me £28 to be told this. now this vet has treated 1 of my mates ferrets so i thought he would be clued up, i have now found another vet & see what he says,will keep you informed regards & Merry Xmas

Is that experienced advice have spoke to a few of me mates & they have heard of them coming into season early,like people have said . keeping jills & hobs together is common practice this time of year manx. have split them up for tonight so she can get some peace , done my head in, as they are this years kits 7 month old, cheers for replies people as i thought i was going mad , hopefully get her jabbed in the morning, regards & merry xmas
  10. went to check on the ferrets this afternoon to find my jill looking a bit swollen & looking like she is coming in season ? have made appointment for vets in morning just to make sure,or maybe my hob is maturing & trying to get it on with her, has anyone else had a jill come into season in november ?i am keeping an eye on them overnight to see if he is having a go, checked her neck but no signs of being ragged about, will let you know what happens, any advice would be appreciated regards & Merry Xmas

Every one should have a kinky pet Dont think the petfinder would work underground No i think the spank paddles more chance of working underground So for anyone needing a cheaper alterative to a locator to retrieve there ferrets, the spanking paddle is the way forward There the future lmao , ive seen the future,

  20. what i did to judge food was weigh the correct amount then put it in a small container & mark it, then i just use the conatiner as a guide when feeding,if your ferrets semmed lethrgic keep an eye on them as the cold weather kicks in, i give mine a bit of warmish food in a morning ( dry with a bit of hot water )& meat at night regards & merry xmas .john
  21. Cheers lads and lasses it was a crackin day totall peace and quiet and watched 7 deer out in the open whilst doing one of the setts. There spun poly hilly Thanks will have to look on ebay I guess, I have the green nets but I use yellow pegs to make sure they dont get lost but the ones you have look alot better. Prob a silly question but if the rabbits sit in the hole before it bolts then would the yellow nets not put them back into the hole. Sorry for the questions but I,ve not been at it long great result, nice clean holes decent size bunnies & sandy soil, rabbi
  22. i give mine chicken carcasses & bones ( uncooked ) they love them, will be fine, not tried them on pork as my last lot of ferrets got shits from pork, but things have changed in 25 years lol
