  1. omg the guy is selling his nets ,if you dont want them dont comment my old man use to have a saying, " better to keep your mouth shut & let them think your a fool " " than open it & remove all doubt" its a for sale section, get a grip man, sorry but cant beleive people can give so much hassle just for selling nets , hemp, spun poly, nylon some one will say each is crap thats why we have the saying "Each To Their Own" !!
  2. i use frontline spray, i spray it on a pair of surgical gloves then massage it into the ferret, works a treat, regards john

Phil am interested in 2 polecats, but too expensive, i have had to cut my season short as i only have 1 hob & 1 jill, he is in a rut at the moment so i can only work 1 at a time , i paid a bag of ferret food for mine £7.50 , can guarantee they will be going to a good home & worked reguarly,if you are expecting that type of money people would probably like to see them work first, if you decide to lower the price , please pm me regards john
  4. my jill came in season begining of december & my hob end of december nightmare, my season has been cut short ,at the moment i can only work 1 @ a time or he ends up ragging her, meant to be getting him & her done next week , may even get them implanted, cant make my mind up, atb regards john
  5. i take mine out after every use, also get yourself a bettery tester so you know when the batteries are going , one i got i paid £3.25 for mine & handy little thing tests all sorts of batteries & this 1 is £1 cheaper tester batteries mk3m , hope this helps regards john
  6. thats a £1 cheaper than mine, good peice of kit to have is a tetser always know when your batteries are going ,nowt worse than not getting a signal on reciever due to collar batteries dying & having £60 underground

  9. i live in a flat & i had the same problems , i offered to tidy up my nieces garden in return for keeping my ferrets there, she came round in the end, i got all the usual responses, like oh ferrets they smell & bite etc, now i have a full set up in the garden & my niece is happy her garden is tidy ,i also have a spare hutch if you are near me in manchester you can have it its only a single story but will do the job, hope this helps regards john
  10. have caughht a black bunny few weeks ago, apparently there is another on my permission which is full of bunnies, there are a few tales regarding the black rabbit, maybe some of the old school lads will know more, but the one which sticks in my mind is farmer releases infected ( mixi )rabbit which is black ( dunno if this is true ) another 1 is farmer used to release black bunny & if the farmer/gamekeeper didnt spot it on his rounds he new it had possibly been poached, also meant to be unlucky to kill a black rabbit,i always backfill after i leave the sett, but if im still working it i

  12. can you elaborate regarding future breeding ?? & what age do the manufacturers reccomend the implant ? it seems to me my vet is singing the prasies of this implant for reasons of finacial rather than welfare ?? maybe wrong but mine are only 8 months old & according to your post too young to be implanted , yet the vet didnt mention minimum ages & i told him mine are only young & i dont want to breed from my ferrets, my hob is in a season & my jill came into season in december ( now out of season ) does that mean she is ok to be implanted or is she still too young any in
  13. nor would i breed something that i dont have a clue about not being funny but if you are asking questions like you are , you should have done more research before getting your ferrets, what happens if you cant sell them, no one wants them ?? jill dies at birth , kits get eaten etc not as simple as you may think ,this is how rescues end up with unwanted kits , sorry for being harsh but please re think before you commit yourself, thats me being honest even if it may offend a.t.b john
  14. top result & the wee lad looks like he enjoyed himself , caught a black rabbit myself the other week, let it go , then my hob backed it into a stop end in another sett then i had to dispatch it , heard so many tales about black rabbits, but wasnt letting it go twice , happy hunting regards john
  15. kay, since posting this i have trawled the internet for as much information as i could find, seems tests are still ongoing & found some intersting articles regarding castration & chemical castration,just googling came up with all sorts of results , i have also managed to get a few peoples dissertations on this subject, intersting read regards john

  18. i was on the phone today to a new vet( recomendation of another forum member) getting a price for castrating my hob & neutering my jill & was qouted £46.17 for him £38.24 for her which i thought was cheap, anyway i digress he mentioned "Implants" for Him & Her,has anybody had or heard of these ? i am going to speak to him monday if i can get out of work regarding the implants, any info would be appreciated, regards john
