    I have had a cancellation for the January trip to Spain. Leaving on the 5th, back on the 10th. 2 days driven boar hunting. 1 place available for a dog handler. I know there are lads on here with bulldogs, wheatens, or just plain terriers that might want the chance to experience catching boar with their dogs, and at a very good price too! We have spare cut-vests PM for more info... but dont delay, we need to act quick to get things sorted in time. Good hunting DnN

    Ive had a cancellation for our January hunt due to the lads ill health. There is one place available for a dog handler. For 2 days driven game hunting in Spain. We leave on the 5th, back on the 10th. Travel and accommodation is all included. But we need to move quickly to get you insured and licensed to hunt in Spain. This would suit a novice dog who is wanting experience with boar hunting. I can taylor your experience to meet your requirements. PM me, for details, feel free to ask any questions. DnN

    I had spaniels, cocker, and springers. I added the terrier blood to give more hunting range, and better ability to follow the line, also voice. Im my eyes spaniels are close-range dogs, though Ive seen some wilder specimens that might pass for beagles lol but usually they tend to work very close (as hunting dogs go). downsouth, I used mine for everything like you do, and I found them willing and able for most stuff, my cocker even got keen on going to ground and I dug him (up at quarry) a couple of times, and stuck in the pipe a handful of times!! Foxes were his demise in the end. sad

    I got the element this time, because its 100 quid cheaper, and just as good for digging. Its in meters. I use the b+f collars with it.,.,.its just the same to use as the pulse.

    I doubt I'll be able to justify having one nowadays, as I dont do enough rats or rabbits thesedays, but a terrier/whippet or a gundog/whippet would be great fun!

    I sometimes make like a rich game stew in the slow cooker, then when ready, drain off the stock and reduce it right down until its just right for inside the pie with the rest of the chunks, my lass makes a cracking pastry

    Yeah expect a chilly wind and cold temps. I hear there are plenty of boar about just now. but they are causing concern with a local farmer Also, we get to keep all the boar/game we catch and share it between ourselves. I will arrange the permits which are needed for travelling with game meat in Spain, to certify that its not commercial.

    Its not far from Zaragoza, about 30 mins easterly or so. The hills are not big. Its similar looking to the pic above but stumpier hills, no steep stuff or cliffs on the land, but its rocky, bushy, thorny, with pine in some of the small gullies, so can be rough going for sure.

    No one know him? I planned to use his bull/deer dog over my wirehair, but I can't get in touch with him and the bitch is in season lol

    There was a one similar in size that nearly had me off the crag during a day out with Collie/Grey! lol they are bad tempered aren't they... one gave my yellow dog a black eye the size of an egg,and dragged him off the hill... some power!

    I also got my strychnine ticket in 1998 , I only did 2 farms with it and just kept hearing of too many 'incidents' regarding the stuff. It just didn't seem right to me, bit like cheating I suppose? I also work on mainly unimproved grasslands, in sensitive areas and keepered estates and in my opinion trapping is best for these areas. I am not saying chemicals don't work, I know they do, all too well, but as I get older, I find it important to stick to traditional methods. I should lighten up a bit maybe, as I have turned really anti-chemicals/poisons, I just don't like the way the world is
