  1. Hello and welcome onto the site!! I dont think either of those calibers (.22rimfire or a .17hmr) are suitable for fox control on a regular basis. theres just not enough power to them. The .22 is an ideal rabbit and small vermin gun and the .17 is similar but obviously with a greater killing range, I find them great for those wiley old corbies! The reason I dont use my.17 is because the bullet is likely to stray a bit in windy conditions, therefore wounding foxes, as to kill a fox cleanly with either calibre a good head or heart shot is a must! Therefore a .222, .22 centerfire, or even better
  2. Some great ideas there, thanks everyone! Has anyone done any wreck fishing or other boat fishing?? Say for conger or tope??
  3. Ive caught 1 fox with that same dark belly before, a young dog it was. And on a nearby estate there was a large dog fox shot by one of the guns, with the same coat. Nice work
  4. ditch mate, ive seen this a few times, it makes you laugh. anybody with any sense who has a pat terrier(that should only be worked might i add) would only feed their little children  on a good raw diet, to them pet owners out there Aye! Ive seen it, and what an absolute load of sh*t!!!!
  5. Ive been to Whitby a few times, but never fished there before. Thanks
  6. im not really into fishing but me and my mate head over to angelsey a couple of times a year, had a few good catches Thanks! What kind of fish did you catch?
  7. Mine does alot of lamping, hes steady and obedient. A lot of work with the terriers. And plenty of daytime hunting. He has his faults- He's not soft mouthed! But the edible game he catches is useable and never mauled. And he dosent retrieve, so when he's well away from us with a catch, ill have to find him.
  8. Aye there have been times when his feet and lower legs have become cut and scraped. Mainly when frosty or on very rocky or stoney ground. They have needed some attention quite a few times, but never to the extent where he has become lame. Touch wood. I havnt had much experience with other breeds or crosses, but I would guess that the lighter crosses perhaps wouldnt get their feet so badly knocked up.
  9. Aye, but a bulky bull cross wouldnt get the catch rates that a whippet or whippet cross would on rabbits. And they are very headstrong and can be a handfull especially for a novice handler.
  10. Im planning on taking my cousin on a short break to try some sea fishing. We are both keen salmon and trout fishermen and are relatively experienced in most aspects of fishing. Im looking for exciting fishing! Perhaps from a boat? Any ideas will be gratefully recieved
  11. Hahaha!!! Hell of a fish!! Good to know its released so that it can breed again, and not just kept as a trophy!
