    Have a dog with only the 1 !! He's sired 5 litters, all dog pups turned out with both as I made a point of checking owners so not sure the inheritance fact stands ??

    To me the best terrier is one that works its heart out under ground. You imagine going in the spots that we ask of our terriers to go in every weekend through the winter and I think we'd nearly all agree thats proppa work for sure. Yes it takes an alert switched on dog to out do a rat on top but they have to be good in all ways when down under thinking for themselves while we wait on top for that mark !! Good post this, makes you realise just how much we ask of our dogs somedays. You've gotta trust em 100% at the end of the day !!

    Yeh think you can go along with the old saying that borders take a bit longer to come on. Not saying they took 4 yrs to start as they showed promise early on but they're both a lot more settled now for sure and just get on with the job. Were as your pat's for instance seem to get on and settle that bit earlier. Mind you, it also depends on what they see and at what time of course !! Its my fault a bit as these two could probably have been shown a bit more at an earlier age but it's quite difficult when your trying to bring young dogs on but at the same time working a tried and tested dog b

    No doubt they'll be some earths within the gorse mate. Looks like you could do with a strong bushing dog in that lot. Lovely spot you've got there mind. Hope you come accross somerts soon.

    Got two Border / Lakelands mate. They took a fair while to come on (4 now) and I nearly gave up on em several times but I'm glad I kept on at em because they're both crackers now. No great blood lines to talk of but they've both got the heart and thats all that really matters to me.

    Went for a walk yesrerday evening for a nosey round, plenty of signs about. We spotted a couple of cubs playing in some long grass, looked a fair size too, not long now. Made the most of a nice sun set and got a nice pic so i thought i'd pop one on here.

    I use shavings in the winer mate, easy to clean up, lasts a while and keeps the coats clean too. Used to use straw but found it made em itchy !!

    WAZCOR, the STIHL boots were £84 and worth every penny. Stood in a stream with em last week digging for twenty mins with no leaks. Plus the dubbing helps as well.
