  1. Hi all I am currently selling my Silver Pigeon 1 as I am downgrading to a cheaper semi. The gun itself has 30" barrels and is in pretty much perfect condition apart from a few minor scratches under the hand guard. The gun has only had 10-15 boxes through it and has been maticulously cleaned after every outing. The gun has a sporting multi choke and comes with the full set of chokes and removal tool. I also have then hard blue transport case. I live in Weston Super Mare, Somerset and will be happy to send pictures to anyone interested. Due to the poor amount of space this site give you
  2. My first pup. She's coming on really well. Recall to whistle is v good. Retreive isn't too bad. All play training at the moment. A lot of swatting up. 13 weeks old
  3. hi all. just looking to see if any one knows of any permission (shotgun rough shooting/ pest control ) around the Weston / locking area. just moved down here. had a few spots up north. any leads would be great. will be going to try and get to know the local land owners this week. thought I would cover all bases and stick a post up on here. all the best
  4. Cheers for the advice mate. Iv got a permission towards Cheltenham way just trying to jack something up for when I am up here. Thanks Ben
  5. hi all, just putting a call out to anyone with shotgun permission in the Wigan area. currently live in Billinge and recently acquired a shotgun (Beretta silver pigeon 1 and license of course ). I'm looking for someone to maybe take me out on one of their spots as i cant commit to permanent pest control for farmers as i am away a lot with my job. reasonably new to game shooting (shotgun) but have a good understanding of hunting and field craft. im not an idiot hell bent on smashing anything that moves but a young bloke trying to learn the art in the proper fashion. all the best Ben

  7. really good to see. people just try to live with the problems the dog creates as appose to cure them. which if you ask me is the most rewarding part of owning a beast

  14. a gypsy once came to me with this scanky looking greyhound. was missing a leg had one eye and scabby as f*ck. so i asked him "what you going to do with that" he said " im going to race it" i said " i think you'll bloody win"..................thought id lighten the mood. for something that is a hobby/pastime/pest management people take themselves very seriously and seem to find great joy in making themselves sound like they take it more seriously than others or are better at it. some people spend more time on here smashing other peoples opinions than out with their dogs by all accounts. happy h
  15. what cross is this. lovely looking dog. like a dot on a domino on this thread.
  16. these lads come from round my way. they are rum as f*ck but i dont think they are bad lads to be honest. i used to go out with a lad who has been out with them a few times. and like i say, he was rum as f*ck himself, mega keen. the old boy near me wouldnt go anywhere near him he thought they were just a bit loud and loutish. i prefer to go out on me own or with a mate. different generations i believe. personally i sway towards the older generation but wouldnt right them off as c*nts.
  17. hadnt really considered a semi to be honest. had been looking simply at o/u. now you have mentioned it i may consider one unless anyone has any reason against them. i have fired a benelli m4 with 8 solid shots. thats good fun. i understand that you are only allowed a semi that is fitted to take three shells only. yes i can understand the importance of having a gun that is fitted correctly. one of my uncles has a gun that he rekons is too short. which is one of his excuses for being a sh*t shot. cheers for the posts gents. any more info will be greatly appreciated
  18. cheers guys. yes i understand about going for a 20g first to get the feel but i have quite alot of expirience with firearms just not in the civilian sense, on the other hand i understand that it is very different to the technique used to game shooting. i have done quite a bit about 4-5 years ago but i was just out and about with my uncles in ireland and scotland rough shooting, and will be looking to get out with them again soon. i was looking at getting something around the £500 mark. im selling my air rifle set up to go towards it so that should take most of the sting out of it. the advi
  19. done a bit of shooting when i was younger and alot of air rifle shooting. very expirienced with gun safety and what not. was just wondering what sort of money i would have to spend before getting a decent gun to go out rough shooting. any ideas ie make/model etc would be greatly appreciated. probably looking at a second hand gun to begin with. also some good acc/s eg. lamp kit etc. have done alot of my own research but there is nothing like expirienced advice. cheers ben. i apologise if this question has been asked a million times before. had a quick skim through the FAQ section and cou
