Decker i take it you asked turners, just out of interest how much were they? you could ask francis lovell in witney or adenbourne. sorry i don't have their numbers.
when i renewed my fac i had a variation done at the same time it was 4 1/2 months before they came to see me and that was only because i complained. it was nearly 6 months before i had my cert. that was with thames valley, they seem to be having some substantial problems at the moment.
i think it goes something like this, securely strap down rifle or in some way make it so that it can't move, fire 1 round then adjust cross hairs so they are spot on the bullet hole.
i think i will be sticking with zeroing the long way though.
thanks clay man,
i decided to spend more and get a better scope in the end, must admit i'm pleased i did as the low light performance is amazing.
regards mark.
Has anyone used one of these as i cant decide wether to get one of these or spend a lot more and get a schmidt and bender, it would be going on my 6.5x55.
all advice will be appreciated.
if you have an open ticket for say a .22 rimfire your certificate will say the following in the "additional conditions may be added here by the chief officer of police"
The .22RF Rifles, sound moderators and ammunition shall be used for shooting vermin and ground game & foxes and zeroing on ranges and land over which the holder has lawful authority to shoot.
if it's a closed ticket it will also have a sentance inserted saying something like "over land deemed suitable by the chief officer of the police"
be it open or closed that statement is i believe repeated for each cal. possess
