You sound like a rifle man to me and riflemen are the biggest vermin in the countryside.
-
What are you interested in Sport or what is good for farmers?
-
Im not really talking about business here or people who make there living from vermin killing Im talking about people who do it for sport and pastime.
-
Im sorry but you sound like a peasant from the dark ages doing the landowners bidding.Ive had plenty of farmers ask me to go in the summer but i just say i only go seriously in winter. If they dont like it thats upto them.Theres plenty more fields in England, but people mostly use that as an excuse anyway i think.Just how far would you go to keep farmers happy anyway? Farmers are not the easiest people to please anyway so why not plough your own furrow(no pun intended)and let him get on with it.

It was great but I prefered that Anglia cup when I went once.It was more of a coursing crowd looking for sport rather than getting pissed.I didnt go for as many years as you by the sound but for me the drinking and yobs making spectacles of themselves took the spotlight off what should have been the greatest coursing spectacle in the world.Quite often when people talk about the waterloo they say more about what they drank than the actual coursing. When coursing does return I think it should be alchol free. No better not say that or Garrett Kelly would definately not slip. NEVER GIVE UP

Its simple there are no established lines of lurchers that are recorded. The average lurcher lads knowledge of breeding compared to a greyhound breeder or say a breeder of hounds is virtually nil. Most people now also seem to frown upon line or inbreeding so how will they ever establish a line. There is no confidence in blood because there is no knowledge of it.Once pups are sold they are forgotten in many cases but even when reports are given on offspring negative info is not appreciated or taken notice of.Its a pity people didnt study breeding more.I think aswell you need official competition

Until I came on this site I never realised how many people not only lamp it seems all spring and summer but also are not in anyway ashamed of it or make any attempt to keep it quiet. To me its a matter of playing fair and letting the quarry rear there young and live the good life until battle commences once again in the autumn.I suppose some of them are fare weather men.The real winter just to much them. What possible good can come from killing during the breeding season?
-
I wouldnt knock youre plans for breeding.I know what its like when you have something you like and think hes special you think about keeping his or her blood and theres nothing wrong with that but I would urge just a little caution. We had a dog which we thought was a world beater. He caught everything and killing was his passion in life.He was awsome to watch, fast agile and never got injured. We had him actually suspended in tall hedges where he had literally tried to jump through them after quarry. His only fault really if anything would have been over enthusiasm but we expected that to calm wit

We dont get upto anything as exciting as that but could you tell me about that collar on the dog.Is it to track him at range? How far does it go and what are they called? Thanks
-
I would have to agree with that.Breeding for breeding sake and why from that Mastiff or what ever it is.It is obviously not of a working type.I think in this case the lights are on but thers no one at home sadly. But just think if you hadnt seen the pics you may have done some serious miles to fetch the pup,and imagine your suprise when "The hound of the Baskervilles"was presented as the dam.Worse still you didnt get to see the bitch but thought it ok because the pup looks bully so off you go to waste 2or3 years of your time.
-
Sorry I made a mistake about the joke me old mucker. I wish you all the best but do you think mastiffs are game enough nowadays? Has the bitch done much? That black dog looks a bit of a devil I bet he could do some damage.Best of luck anyway some twats bound to have it if its for free.
-
Is this a joke?

Feed meat every day and get no complaints.A dogs head is a killing and mincing machine. No need to buy another.

I dont care if you give me a mouthful but that bed needs a lot more straw.Put yourself in there place for half hour and see how you feel. Its a nice litter hope you dont take it the wrong way. not the sort fella moved the straw out change it and took the photos with it out to show the pups better I knew that really

If hes a young lad he will relate to Running dog addiction and see lads in it like himself doing real things with todays kind of dog. I thought it very Gallant of Mr Darcy to recommend Ted Walshes book and I wouldnt knock it myself.Infact Ive always had a copy but it will be harder for a young lad to relate to because Ted Walsh was from a diffrent world. This is today and the kids of today are the future and that has got to be "Running dog addiction". Unless you want to teach him how to bullshit avoid plummer altogether. He can read them when hes older for a laugh.

I think you have just been lucky. Mine is about that old and the wiring has come adrift in every possible way and carries about 3 miles of black tape. They ought to supply soldering irons with them free imo.
-
I had one a few years ago but thought it a bit weak.Sounds like they,ve come on a bit. Does that blazerlite reach as far as the lightforce or even the blitz.
-
Youre right they are a good lamp but poorly put together. For what they cost they ought to be made better.
-
You can get good rubs from greyhound megastore online like curako. Electrolytes might help aswell. Most Greyhounds dehydrate very easily. Also put a coat on her if its cold out.Take it off when she goes for a scamper and back on when she goes back on the lead.I know a greyhound bitch who was still flapping at nine but i suppose that was exceptional. I think its great you let her off the lead for a run. Greyhound are fantastic dogs. good luck.

Ive been using lightforce 170 and a blitz. I use the L/F the most but does anyone know of a lamp that shines as far but is made better and where to get it.I dont lamp in the summer but id like to look before winter because i get sick of fixing the wiring and soldering the lightforce and blitz.

Whippets arnt usually as fast as greyhounds and some are pretty slow compared to anything. The thing about whippets is they always look fast on there own or two together but put a big fast lurcher next to them and they look like they are standing still. Im talking about the chase here not playing about in a paddock. If you have a whippet and you want to add teeth and keep or improve on speed then add bull/greyhound. After that I wouldnt add anymore whippet it goes a long way.
