  1. I agree with all the points you make. I think that the RSPCA will be lobbying soft and sympathetic MPs at the Westminster parliament right now in order to gain these powers in England and Wales, when this legislation is reviewed. We may be in a situation where our lifestyle may be influenced by people with considerable power who are not, by the nature of their organization, impartial or objective. It's an easy cost saving. It also secures the long term future of the RSPCA and probably goes some way to secure their funding needs.
  2. This does not apply in Scotland. The SSPCA were granted considerable powers under the Animal welfare act. You can find all the details by searching SSPCA Powers on line. They have the same powers as the police. But they must inform you beforehand that they intend to pay you a visit, unless by doing so that will frustrate the purpose of getting the warrant in the first place. I suppose fashion has changed them a little. I took one a small brown bitch 2 years old who worked well, went to ground at the drop of a hat. I lost her while working, drowned and cold.(i replaced her through this site ..thanks Greengras

I live in Lanarkshire in south central Scotland. I am willing to travel for the right animal. I lost my working bitch ( rough coated Patterdale) on the 3rd Feb.2008 whilst out ratting. She got trapped in a flooded burrow system and was dead on retreval. A great loss. All of my efforts in answering adverts for and going to see so called working dogs has so far produced far from working dogs and f
