  2. Well lads' i have a gamo cfx hear in ireland running at about 18foot pounds and wanted a bit of help in the choice of scope suitable. Something cheap and cheerful with a large objective lens would be ideal. I dont have a big budget at all about 100 euro so any suggestions would be appreciated.
  3. Walk her as much as you can on the roads toughen up her pads as this is where it seems to hurt pups
  4. for all the lads on here from ireland , just wondering can i buy a .22lr or wmr on a .22 air rifle licence like the way u can buy a .22 hornet on a .22lr licence.just wondering because an air rifle licence is basically a rifle licence over here in ireland cheers bucks,
  5. this is what i have heard,if that new restriction thing comes in do you think we that have semis can reapply to have them un-restricted,
  6. i know that here like britain we have a restriction to 3 shoots per semi, but i heard sumwhere that there was a concession for shooting vermin is that true i have searched the internet for answers but with no success could one of the lads from ireland on here tell me what the story is ,much appreciated.cheers
  7. get a harrington and richardson semi mate ,good solid and reliable (they are a service shotgun in america with a lot of police units) had one for a while now done a lot of claying with it never jammed.it cost me €640 here in ireland last year since i have got mine i have seen lot of them around with good reviews.very basic stock but robust ansd does the job no problem.atb
  8. just bought a full powered gamo cfx royal the other day and because i am in ireland (not restricted to 12 fpp) have to wait for my licence to come through.now i have heard conflicting reports about the gamo cfx power wise now i was just wondering what fpp does the .22 version punch out. thanks in advance.
  9. thanks for the help but could you tell me what is the longevity of the rifle is like and the accuracy cheers
  10. so basically the gamo cfx royal @ €274 is my best option. this gun is not restricted so i would be right in saying it was running at 18fps its only that i saw so many guns i am getting confused its muzzle velocity was 775.
  11. basically i want an air rifle for killing the mags at my chicken pin . i have priced around my local shops and because i am in ireland the average fps i was looking at was 18-20 so for my budget i saw a cometa somthing or other synthetic break barrel silencer and scope aswell @ 18fps for €385 and in a different shop i saw a gamo cfx royal silencer no scope @ €275 basically i will be probably settling for one of these two but just do not know which one.which one would ye have and why? .this would help me greatly, thanks in advance.
  12. i agree, we got our brittany spaniel docked at an older age because she split it in heavy cover got infected.but because she was so used to having a tail when it was gone she walks about with her arse to one side looking very awkward still works ok though.

  17. the fastest terrier i have seen was a working irish terrier. a lad has him here close to me and have seen him run down rabbits with the whippet x's very game terrier will take all quarry he is planning a x in the summer months.
  18. i was just wondering if in ireland you needed a firearms licence for a air rifle under 12lb pressure.i just got my shotgun licence and was thinking that it would be a bit cheeky to push for another licence straight away.
  19. a mate of mine has a whippet with a tiny bit of beddy in it a while back when we were out lamping he slippet it on a fox and the dog managed it grand. now the dog in question is very racy looking almost pure whippet in size and structure very little beddy if any (he was told it was in the strain somwhere).just wondering if any of ye have seen whippet taking fox and did they take much stick because every time i look at the little game dog i think he could get very hurt against reynard. any info greatly appreciated.
  20. nice group of dogs mate.just wondering how do you rate the whippets because i have been looking for some time now for my first rabbiting dog to work with my ferrets and was interested in whippet or whippet crosses which would be better in you opinion.cracking looking whippet by the way.
