sorry for some of the picture quality.retieving over fence,going for retrieve over fence,basic retrieve,long sit and stay and short sit and stay

took nico to our smaller training ground this afternoon.he has been given very small sessions just to get him used to his life changing move tohis new home.today we did heel work on the lead,sitting,about turns and also short sit and stay.incorperated in the sit and stay was the odd recall from this position.we did each thing about 3 times and he was good on at least 2 of them each time.im very pleased the way he is coming along.but we shall see what tomorrows sessions brings

spot on tom they are getting a bit above themselves and are giving the sport a bad press at the shows by doing all this hospitality thing.as soon as my ca membership is up for renewal i'll be in touch mate.regards LW

just thought i would show you the training ground that has been given to me very kindly for free from a local farmer,for me to train the dogs on and shoot rabbits and pigeons

genetics is one thing colour another.the dog does not know what colour it is.in my opinion there are no bad dogs just bad trainers.labradors in the field have always been prodominantly black and therefore when a different colour does'nt perform well enough then the saying is it must be the colour thats the problem.how many black dogs have not been so good probabley, because of the amount of black far more, would be my guess.its for rough shooting and i now do have two dogs.all i can say is watch this space.regards LW

thanks for your replies i did not get the chocolate lab because i wanted to breed especially because i was'nt bothered if i got a bitch or a dog,but for when and if i breed,i did know that mixed labs were accepted.many thanksLW

my black lab bramble has new reached the dizzy hieghts of 15 months of age,so i decided to get another labrador to be company for her and also to train as i have done with bramble.after some deliberation of male or female and black,yellow or chocolate i finally aquired the dog that i believe will make an ideal partner for bramble and myself. i travelled north to south shields and bought a dog that is almost 6 months old.he is a chocolate colour,which i know some people are not exactly wild about as far as being over intelligent but i am a firm believer that its never the dog but the owner/tra

as most of you know i already have bramble a 14 month old black labrador.she has trained really well and does everything i want her for.im now thinking of getting a second lab probably 6 to 12 months old.but which would be the best as in colour,sex age etc.obviously a male throughs up mating issues which i dont mind,some say the colour matters and would the colour be an issue if i did mate with a black and say chocolate lab.whats your thoughts please.regards LW
