I happened across one from Litt's at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School, haven't seen them much otherwise.

Good going Ian

Good shooting, what's the rifle you're using?

Good going Deker, were these the 'charmed' foxes or were you out somewhere else? Foxdropper - Deker managed it apparently... But in any other case, foxes are vermin so since my certificate says vermin and ground game, that'll do me. I think the idea behind a separate condition is to make sure people aren't buying a 22 specifically for foxes. They definitely do the job up close, and if anyone ever took my to court for shooting one with a 22LR, I think it's fair to say I know who'd win! Edit... And I need to get back out after foxy - everyone's shooting them today/last night...

They offer 223 in 1:8 and 1:12 at the moment. The 1:8 is best for heavier bullets - 55gr and up to 70+. So yep, you're right

I've got a Deben Tracer Max lamp, mounted with their standard clip-on piece of plastic. The beam is too low, even on maximum elevation. Deben said to shim it, and with the aid of an upturned Weaver mount and a guitar plectrum, it now points straight. I get the impression this is going to be a serious pain in the ass though, so how common is this? Deben said it might be faulty, but I don't want to send it in because I don't want to be without it. I could take it back to the shop too, as it's reasonably new, but I don't want to make a fuss over nothing...

Hi i will be useing it to shoot foxes and roe deer i have a simmons 4. 12. 44 on the gun just now but i was looking for a bigger magnification its on a 22.250 rifle Sorry mate I missed your reply. Are you going to be shooting foxes under the lamp? If yes, I would prioritise optical quality over magnification. I shoot with a 7x50 Meopta on my Hornet. i would want a bit more mag for a 22-250 I agree, but the difference those optics makes is huge - I can see so much more clearly than with my Nikko 4-12x42 Diamond. I have an MTC Viper on my 22-250, it seems good but I haven't even man

Surely gotta be a plain and simple No! CF case you take the primer out of the case and put another one in. Can't do that with a rimfire case because the fulminate of mercury is spun into the rim at the factory. You could in theory put more powder in and put in another bullet, but you'd have to get more stuff in the rim, and I can't see that being possible in a home environment.

You'll have to be a bit more specific Bushnell are a good make, they do scopes from cheap and nasty up to extremely good. I have looked through their Sportsman line and they're not bad for the money. I have a Trophy 4-12x40 on my Ruger 10/22 and it's good. I have looked at the Elite 3200 10x40 and that was a good scope as well. However depending on the price point they can be beaten so... what price are you looking to pay?

Is that the farm from the 9-hour, 2-bunny trek the other day, by any chance That copse does offer the shooting as you are aware but it will still be some shot whatever we use! PS ...I'll have to get back into IT, less work and much better money than Game & Vermin Control Warmer working environment this time of year anyway! Well I might have to get the 243 first. in the meantime the 22-250 should have the legs, unless I manage to sell it

Depends on the range you will be shooting animals at... If that's out to 300 then 200, otherwise 150-odd?

Did you find one that likes swimming or something Good going though -
No I've decided not to buy that rifle for two reasons. One I was told it was a Sako & it turned out to be a 7 year old RWS, no problem with RWS though & it was in good nick but secondly it's got a floor plate magazine & I prefer drop out mags. As for the reloads they weren't, they turned out to be newly custom loaded by a local firearms dealer who loads rounds for a few of the keepers round here. I have been offered them & will be talking to the FID about them to see what he says. Looking at getting a new Tikka or RWS Titan at the moment also saw a nice laminate thumbh

What are you going to be using the scope for? Rhino aren't well known, I've had some people say they're decent however. Depending on use there is likely to be a better choice.

Mr_Logic DOES have a Sako 75 Varmint 22-250 for sale, shoots half inch at 100 yards, vvgc...

Lovely shot - even if I say so myself!

CZ511 semi. Used 452's over the years and never had any grief from any of them, ever... Thanks for that, is it a recurring with your semi or is it fairly new or something ss06 I think it just needs the magazine cleaning, it's a pain though. It's an 8-shot, the spring wasn't working too well - if limited to 5 it's OK, but out there last night I needed 10 - I contemplated loading up the ol' banana mag for the Ruger

Good going, and yes, what did you use for the call?

Tikka, which 243 were you shooting? Surely that's a rifle problem rather than an ammunition one? -
Good evening had with rimfires yesterday, although my Ruger 10/22 Target rifle did most of the damage - shooting accurately and reliably, unlike my CZ which shot OK but jammed on me so I gave up with it. Took the Ruger as a backup (I've had rifle problems there before and I thought sod's law would emerge if I didn't take 2!) got it out after rabbit no. 2 and it was great. Just need to get it screw cut and it's a primary rabbit gun...

I don't shoot enough foxes to warrant a calibre that ONLY does foxes. 22-250 is a great calibre and I love my rifle, but 243 does an even better job on foxes if you get the right combination (similar level of drop, better windage, more grunt) and 223 is cheaper. So between them they give me a lot more than just 22-250 on its own. -
I don't know if you are misunderstanding something or it is simply badly worded but I am Secretary of a Home Office Approved Club at Bisley. You do NOT need a sponsor to come to the club, and you can come as a guest visitor without any FAC as long as you complete a Section 21 (which I keep). The majority of our guests do however come with a member! If subsequently you wish to become a member you will need to be proposed by a member (which will be simple and easy because if the club was not happy with you as a guest you will already have been told you are no longer welcome), complete t

Not really a case of hiring one, if you're a member you just borrow it when you're there.
