While Leupold-bashing is common these days, as they do appear overpriced, they do offer things that other people don't, in that price range anyway.
Your average VX-III, VX-3 now, offers over 90MOA of elevation adjustment; most offer about 50 MOA.
The glass, while not S & B quality, is acceptably good - I have a VX-III 6.5-20 and it's excellent at night and not too shabby in low light.
Their Varmint hunter ret is very good - fine enough for long range AND good for night work on the lamp.
Build quality is good for the price too - they're solid, and backed by a good warranty.
