might sound as a silly question, but just got the bill from vets for these injections, and noticed that the first jab for this was feb 14th,she told me to bring the dog back on 27th feb for another jab,did this thinking it was for something else, looking at the bill she has charged me twice for the same innoculation on these dates, just wondering is this right why innoculate for the same thing twice in the space of 2 weeks, charged me18 pounds on each occasion,is this right.

this sort of thing has been going on in the lurcher world for years now,its nothing new, they make the parentage of the pups up to suit the buyers requirements,a few years ago there were lads travelling hundreds of miles, to see a litter of genuine bedxgrey or deerhound x grey, these pups were nothing of the sort all bullshite over the phone, the pups were usually turned into something that was in fashion at the time if they couldnt sell them,ie if deerhoundx or colliex were the popular dogs thats what the pups were sold as,i know that there are loads of genuine breeders out there but there also

i posted on micro chipping dogs only afew weeks ago on this site, and stated that make sure the chip stays in the dog, easy enough to notice in a smooth coat, had my rough coated dog done, and next day discovered chip had come out of the skin, took him back and had another chip inserted, had to be reregistered on data base, hope fully this one is in to stay, wouldnt have known chip was out, only that i found it in between hairs on shoulder blades, let vets know that i thought it was a crap job, lesson learnt/

If these ticks carry a disease that can kill your dogs, what would the out come be if a human was bitten byone of these ticks, any mention of any one abroad being in direct contact, sounds to be pretty deadly.

have you tried using a slip lead, hold him in till he spots a rabbit in the beam, then slip if he catches a good result, if he misses get him back on the slip as quickly as possible,do you do alot in the daytime with dog,if you do it will engourage him to use his nose rather than watching the beam.

is it just me, but every year about now, there seems to be a lot of dogs and saplings put up for sale, some for sensible money and some for ridicolous prices, the way i see it is alot of these sellers, have either ruined these dogs by bad, training, run them too hard too young, or just cant be arsed tokeep them and feed them over the summer months, i know that some just regard there lurchers as ten a penny, but surely if you have put the time and effort into your dogs you wouldnt just cast them off at the end of each season, for abit of ale money,my dogs are not world beaters by any standards, but they

i know there are quite a few irish lads on this site, just asking whats the law in the north and south regarding docking pups tails, the reason that i ask is i have noticed on done deal, that terrier pups and spaniel pups are all undocked, have they followed like england, scotland, andwales, sad state of affairs if they have, another useless piece of legislation, like alot of other lads used to do all my own beforewith no hassle, supposed to be barbaric,so is what happens to the tails of undocked working dogs
-
just had my rough coated lurcher microchipped by vet this morning, been out for a run this affy checked him over as normal, brushed his coat and what i thought was apiece of twig came out.but when i looked it was the micro chip obviously not put in properly,if ithis wouldnt have happened,i would havebeen none the wisier and wold have believed chip was still in him,. apoor job done.so lads just be aware of this when getting your dogs done, cost me 30 notes. so words will be said on the return trip.

just a question folks, would this cross be any good for hunting up and facing heavy cover like gorse and thick brambles, been seriously thinking about getting one,but on the other hand would a pure whippet or abedlington be better suited to this type of work, any of you guys use them for day time mooching,ie ferreting, ratting, and bushing.atb

thinking the dog could be saluki, bull greyhound with a bit of deerhound in the mix, hence the colouring, nice looking animal, best of luck with him.
