    some good post on this i would like to hear a few opinions off the older terriermen i know off lads that have breed off bitchs that were only young and not tested but they carried the right genes and it worked the pups were workers.what anyman dose for his own use is his own business some men know how to breed workers what ever way they do it.

    "make the right moves" and "help along". Sounds like training to me mate! No mate its not training,its pyscology. Like i said real knowledge is hard earned but ill say this. A lad came on yesterday and he had bolted a fox from a drain with a "new dog" the dog looked youngish,he was congratulated on the bolt,but his reply was "would have been better if i had got the fox" Whats one fox at the side of the psycological lesson for the dog? Whats the lesson? figure it out,lol.

    theirs not much training in a terrier for earth work really is their all you can do is bring them out as much as you can get them used to the country side and all the surroundings and put some manners on them pin them outside the earth when they get to the right age and when their ready to enter the rest is up to them.

    dealers use big names to try sell pups.i am lucky enough to have dug with one or two well known terrier men but they didnt go looking for the limelight like some do they were well known throw their dogs and the standard they kept them over the years.and when they breed a litter of pups they wont be for sale to anyone with a big bank account.and thats why they have what they have today because they kept it right and money didnt come into it the love of terrier work did.you need to know the histroy behind what you have to keep it right.

    dont bother with bags of dog food its shit i dont care what anyone says if you can get tirpe feed it to your dogs i have been giveing it to my dogs for years their in great order and energy levels are high.

    i had a look throw i cant rember which number it was 1 or 2 but their was a picture of a man i think jhon swales or was it joe swales he was holding a little bitch i wanted to find out a bit more about this mans dogs what were they like and have an one seen them work.

    maybe he just didnt want anyone to know the way they were breed i seen troy and i dug over turbo a good few times i had him here in my kennels we lost him on a deep dig that went on for hours he was a top class dog ken gould might get the piss taken out of him on this site but most of it is from lads that never seen his dogs work and listen to shit off others

    from my experice and i have seen one work and it failed to do its job.they are not game dogs if your going to use them for drawing dont waste your time with them.the 2 i seen were not bad with other dogs.

    that is the turth the place is full of drit and lads breeding and produceing more shit.the simple facts is they dont test their dogs some lads dig their dogs a few times a season and talk about them for the rest of it.their still are a few honest lads out their im lucky enough to know some of these lads and dig with them they tell it how it is and i have learn'nt one thing in this game and thats to be honest their is no need for bullshit breed for yourself and close friends and work them the way they should be and you will always no what you have in your yard.belive only what you see yourself.

    i agree . when in a fair size dig the box gives the same reading say 0.3 for eg in one corner of the dig and the same at the opposite corner. and the dog had a mouthful and was still. with the deben you could pinpoint the dog and get in quick if u needed to. I was going to say the exact same thing but I'm sick of key board hunters trying to shoot me down, theirs only so much rejection i can take i have found the same thing the old grey box was better for pin pointing when your near the dog.but it couldnt be trusted the same as the bellman and flint i rate them top of the line

    leting the deers out of a box to hunt them.do they not do this because its the only way they where allowed to hunt the last few seasons.i dont think they always done this or did they.either way its a form of hunting in their eyes and if that goes.then it wont be long before it effects the rest of us somewhere down the line.
