  1. At night when the moon is out the geese do fly at night to feed. I have found that after 4 or so hours into darkness they start to fly and can be heard through out the night. However unless there is a thin layer of cloud in the sky looking white due to the moons rays it will be almost impossible to see them and therfore shoot them. The geese's black outline can be seen against the white clouds. You will need to know where the geese feed during the day as it will be most likely they will return there. However the movement of geese is very random. Certainly it has been found that with par
  2. No, no, no. Any one who knows anything about pike fishing will realise pike shud NOT be taken out the water! It may be legal but that is not the point. Pike are in limited stocks and it is said that there are perhaps 4 pike in every quatre mile of river. Of coarse there are more in some areas and none in others so it evens out. If we all took pike out of rivers to eat there wud be none left. The PAC and other pike fishing organisations are doing everything they can to prevent pike bein taken out of our waters. I mean come on people, is there not already a massive problem with f*****g im
  3. The rabbit traps are very easy to make dont need to pay £15. I could make one in 5 minutes just paying a few quid for materials. I do agree though that snaring is far better, the rabbits often seem very wary of the cage traps.

    McKenzie Thorpe

Yeah I have read collin Willocks book on Kenzie several times and i still find it brilliant. Kenzie is a ledgendary poacher from Lincolnshire but more importantly he became a professional wild fowling guide, taking many people on the marsh after the pinks ect. He poached during the war time for food but mainly it ran in his blood, the sheer thrill of being out at night in all conditions, out witting game keepers. I am glad to say it also runs in my blood and there is no where i would rather be than out walking by night
  5. A silenced 410 shooting birds at 40-50 yards? An oak tree 40-50 yards high. I think someone needs to get a tape measure out lol. Even one of the tallest oak trees in England would be about 30 yards high.

I just use a silenced .22 air rifle with poor quality torch on top. The air rifle is quite enough and the crapy torch gives of just enough light to see the bird in a scope and get a head shot. The problem is if you wound it it makes so much noise and often scares others away. If this happens i relocate to another wood some way away.
