  1. Sorry to hear your packing in Kev . As we all know Iv packed it in a few times to ha ha .. That's the beauty of craft we can change products over night . The big downside for this sort of work is the constant investment in equipment and materials I reckon . You have to make clear profit to do that , but to be honest and fair (and to get the business) we all ask to little for our products . So it becomes a tread mill , I sell cheap to keep money coming in but my "profit" is as little as £3 sometimes (more often than I want to admit) so I have to reinvest all the money to make the next batch
  2. No takers ... Iv had so many people ask about bloody kukris and machetes over the last few weeks . Not to worry , plenty more knobs on the bench ready to be finished .
  3. Hello, up for sale is this my fist full sized kukri. Made from o1 tool steel 4mm thick. The blade is 30cm long and 6.5cm at the widest point. 5. Il make it happen as soon as I can then . There is one it two things you will need so il make sure to get some extras in so people can get them and do the same for them selves .
  6. Love them !! Could be from 200 years ago
  7. No , it's built to be used and will accept the abuse. Keep it oiled and sharp last forever . If it ever did get a bit beaten up I can give it a service , clean the blade re-establish the edge etc . I'm planning a thread in the next couple of weeks on how to restore any of the carbon blades Iv made ..
  8. Thanks Mr , at least me n you would use it ha ha.
  9. Hi , yep it's on bushcraft uk forum . They like it but no buyers yet . Probably a cost thing ?? Thanks for the positive support . I'm not complaining really , Iv given it years to come right financially . If I could afford staff to really turn out volume I would carry on with budget stuff , but can't .
  10. I like mick he's become a friend but I don't get how they get that money . If it's forged Damascus or super steel Perfect mirror Finnish maybe but there so often not .
  11. Thanks fellas !! I just ready on pigeon watch one of my Damascus knives graloched 58 deer last year !! Kev get on eBay buy a satin mop for your drill or bench grinder . It will remove any stains and bring black the satin Finnish .
  12. I hear you Chris . It's a niche blade that one . Every kid I grew up with had a machete but my dad would never have allowed me to have one so never bothered with one from then to a few years back . A cheap one came up for sale so I got it and chopped it a bit and put a good edge on it . I can't imagine what I would do with out it now ! So useful for field craft stuff . But I can understand why it's not for everyone .
  13. Thanks gents . Rio I've never worried about competition I don't really follow other makers or brands . I think when I started this I was making really weird and wonderful styled knives , moving away from that was my biggest mistake . Let's face it we aren't creating anything new it's mans first tool , it's all been done before in one way or another . But where the real challenge and I belive desirability in the piece is the Finnish and materials , that I know is infinite and where originality and Beauty is to be explored . I will be aiming for something very specific when I make this cha
  14. Next to the kukri its light and fast with great balance . I never wanted to make the kukri because I thought it would be so hard to make , I dunno if it's because iv made a good few larger knives lately but it wasn't as bad as I expected to make . It's true the kukri is a blade heavy knife but after a lot of reading and research it's meant to be .. I think because I shoot pigeons a lot and live in the countryside I use a machete axe etc all the time so I would use this sort of thing Weekly . But I can imagine lots wouldn't . I had a very good mate over this weekend , known him all my life .
  15. Hi everyone , I'm hoping you might find time to just put a simple post up as a sort of survey to see what my knives and edged tools have been used for . I know that's asking for trouble , but some customers have done some incredsbly interesting stuff . For example one guy took very basic kit and just disappeared into the wilds of Canada for 3 weeks and his only small knife was a fieldcrafter . I know at least one more has stuck wild boar in Europe .. So I thought it might be interesting to find out more . This is not sales hype as I'm slowly phasing out the type of knives Iv been making an
  16. Ha ha . There's a kukri coming next . A full sized one .... Just need leather to sheath it..
  17. Thanks fellas . I'm really pleased with it . Ready to be posted and used ?
  18. ok this the first of a pair of large cutting knives , its based on the greek kopis , the famed blade of alexander the greats army , and believed to be the forerunner for the also famed napalese kukri \ gurkha knife. constructed from 4mm thick o1 tool steel with a differential temper , meaning the cutting edge is hard to retain the cutting edge, and the spine - ricaso and tang all spring tempered for flexability. the blade its self is 27 cm or 10 3\4" long 5cm or 2" at the widest point . it has a convex grind for strength when chopping , this is a superior grind for chopping tools in my mind

  20. I hope that doesn't sell before I can afford it !! Great idea it being an adjustable trap gun , I assume that's so the pattern in a better position to the sight picture rather than having to smother the targets with the mod !! Looks well made to , is it a hush power conversion ?
  21. The silenced o/u interested me , pictures of the gun would be great to see . All the best , Matt
  22. Thank you gentleman . Iv eaten and drunk a hell of a lot over that last few days and gained a stone in weight I bet ha ha . So my health might not be improved ! just New Years to deal with and its back the the grind stone ?
  23. Sorry yes it is now . off the top of my head it's mostly the larger sized (there not big ) red stag / buffalo , a couple of the mini forest and field one field crafter . I think there is 8 knives unsold !!
