  5. just internet search it mate , there is tons of info on it iv written it a few time and it takes ages . even you tube has loads of stuff on it , everyone does it there way really some more hardcore than others . there is alot of stages to it tho and its easy to just ignore stuff , but the blade will be shit if you do . good luck mr and have fun with it .

  8. iv made them from brass ! not the same i know arnt most bowls made of bone with horn flute comming from that ? you can get big lumps of treated bone on the bay ! camel bone and buffalo would look great !
  9. no mate its aby-b's design that one ! got a good look to it i reckon . as for handle material .................... got a modern look with a clasic line , brass bolsters and pummel with a ivory alternative micarta in the midle , would look realy classy maybe a 1mm brass liner to bring out the file work and contrast the filler ?
  10. ocd i like that , i like it mate take your time on this one it could be a show stopper , gret shape you should draw round it keep it as a stencil , i might be able to get you some laser cut one day . even if not you can refine it over the years and it will be your own knife to your design . the file work looks great to well done .

I DOUBT THE VETS WILL ACCEPT THAT IF SHE HAS AN INJURY,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,LOL, SERIOUSLY THO IF THE MAN CANT AFFORD THAT THEN HE CANT AFFORD THE UP KEEP OF THE DOG SURELY.....YOU DONT KNOW WHATS AROUND THE CORNER thats true to a point ! but a better thing to have posted was , she is just the sort of thing we are looking for !! as cash is tight we dont have a spare £120 for the little bitch , and im sure she w
  13. bloody hell !! thats a double crap story !! might be for the best tho eh ?
  14. my beautiful mrs wants this little bitch so badly but we simply can not afford her !!!! its a shame she had a crappy start in life lets hope the good quality of care continues . all the best , matt
  15. all the above was high lighted as what they would need from me to go for my fac unless it was rim fire or section 1 air !! go for it i say , stressful but worth it , especialy when it IS all in the past !!
  16. i just got my shotgun ticket yesterday , and i have a past that is not good at all !! i was honest about it and they felt that it was the only way to have aproached it , the exact frase was " we are taking an educated risk with you all things being considered " it has taken along time to get this maybe 7-8 months and has been infront of the cheif of nottinghamshire police twice before being passed yesterday there assesment of me was that i "had been brutaly honest" and as such had shown charictor and open aproach . i was warned that any trouble will result in big problems for me with them a
  17. good on you , iv got some file work to do today.................... well i better get on i spose !! all the best , matt.
  18. good stuff , its more than addictive i think , im addicted to making them more than using them , i only have 2 knives i use out of 200+ iv made !! i have 3 beautys im making at the mo i would love to own them but i bet i sell them !!! two are big buggers one a blade sports cutter and a greek sward !!!! im not ever sure how to work them yet and i already love them ha ha .. all the best and keep at it !! i read the other day about a guy who makes all his knives from files , he just tempers them straight out the packet and drills them with carbide tiped drill bits . im gonna give it a go
  19. granuals are still the first choice tho nick as the solution is basicly what you will make with the granuals , and once you begin to use it , it will become laden with rust and loose its strength , at that point you need to add more granuals or buy some more solution ... its available stuff tho and not to expensive . i bought 500g a year ago and still have some left and i use it every week !! experimentation is the way forward , i would guess that you have bought the pakistani damascus blanks from ebay or the states? the metals in them are unknown to everyone ha ha , there not top qualit
  20. no problem i hope it makes sence i just read it all again and my spelling is terrible !! you could use a brillo pad but its harsh and will go into the little reccess the carbon steel has shrunk back into , and might leave you with a blade all one colour (shiney) but with the pattern , it wont look good . 000 wire wool is super fine steel wool i think you can get it from B&Q when i had less tools i used and still do , the very fine wet and dry sand papers , beleave it or not halfords sell it in a massive grit range, very reasonably and its really good quality paper !! you can get a littl
  21. very nice ! they look usful and have a nice style !! did you heat treat and temper the steel ? i usualy avoid this sort of question but it will make a big differance if you have . well done keep it going . all the best , matt.
  22. just thought , you dont really want to be putting whol knives into etch handle material , brass copper what ever is on the finnished knife will also etch /discolour . even a small blob of glue will block the acid and ruin the look . finnished knives that need a re etch need to be done with reall care and some experiance or it could go horribly wrong . all the best , matt.
  23. wow thats finnished that one off perfectly !!! its got a quality look to the whole thing , i think you tweo have bought out the best in the whole prgect , well done guys !!!
