  1. I buy mice for my ferrets. Got an older jill with some health issues at the moment, and she's eating 2 or 3 every night They are expensive though, so the other ferrets only get 3 or 4 a week each
  2. Yes, that's right. I don't think I'd be brave enough to do the dispatching of the rabbits myself, but I wouldn't mind the opportunity to go along and see how it's all done
  3. You've done a grand job with it, paddy
  4. Fingers crossed she's home safe and sound very soon
  5. Give me wild rabbit any day. I recently paid £2.99 each for rabbit. I could tell just by looking at it that it was farmed, but it was all I could get. This had a little label on it saying it was from China, as well. I won't be buying them again, as they don't even come close to the wild ones. My local fishmongers are selling wild ones for £4.50 each at the moment, and although it's a bit pricey, I'd rather get fewer of theirs, than buy those farmed ones that the other butcher is selling. The best deal I've ever found on wild rabbit was on Bury market @ 2 for £6. And he let me have
  6. Really sorry to hear about your jill
  7. Thanks Interesting, because never having seen one, I always imagined them to be smaller and somehow placed right up to the edge, covering some holes that were in a straight line - thinking about it now, I expect you don't get many holes in a straight line. Anyway, thanks, I've learnt something new tonight
  8. Looks like you all had a good day As you probably know, I know nothing about ferreting, so excuse me if this seems like a silly question. The green net/barrier that's in the pictures, is that what people call a 'long net'?
  9. Really pleased to hear he's been found
  10. So, no 'auntie Mary' either then
  11. Some just loathe each other. I've got 5 ferrets, but even they are split into two groups 'cause two of the jills are a nightmare if they get anywhere near each other
  12. Good luck with this Kay. There's a heck of a lot of misconceptions out there regarding working ferrets as well as ferreters
  13. Looks great Yep, I have the shelf poopers too. One of them has an obsession with cups, and has 4 plastic ones stashed on the shelf. Yesterday he was playing musical chairs with them, and as they always stay on that shelf, I couldn't understand why he was bringing them out of their house and looking for other places to put them...Then I looked on the shelf
  14. She's lovely. Glad they're both getting along so well
  15. Go in to 'my pictures' and right at the far left click on 'file' hold cursor over 'new' and then you'll see 'folder' off to the side. Just click that and it'll put one in your list of pictures
