  1. Sounds like you're doing a grand job of getting them tamed. They're obviously starting to trust you more now. Well done
  2. Hi I haven't taken the tape measure to it, but it's a little under 4ft deep and 6ft wide. However, because of the roof overhang, that makes the roof space around 6ft by 6ft. It's probably about 5.5 ft high, or a little more. As for dismantling, I really don't know how easy, or difficult it will be. The sides, back and front are attached to the base with nails (not screws). can't remember exactly how many, but 3 or 4 in each. The roof was nailed on also. These were the fixing that came with it when I bought it.
  3. Hi, I have a childs playhouse converted for the ferrets. It's a little under 6ft wide x 4ft deep. The roof has an overhang of around 2ft at the front of the house, which makes the roof roughly 6x6ft. It needs a new piece of perspex (roughly 18 x 18 inches) for one of the windows, or you could just board it up. It needs a bit of work, as one of the shelves will need re-painting, and the side panel on the high shelf needs securing with screws. You'll also need to make a small ramp for the small shelf if you only have jills or small hobs, as it's a little too high for them to reach. My big

  9. Where are you getting the turkey mince from? Is it for human consumption, or pet mince from a pet shop? The reason I'm asking is that 'human' mince won't have any bone in, so will be deficient in calcium. If they're not eating the dry ferret food, and not suckling much from mum, they'll not be getting enough calcium, and you could end up with weak bones/walking problems. Not a good idea to feed lots of muscle meat alone. Have you tried softening the dry food with a little warm water? If it's soft they should eat it fine. Perhaps two bowls of dried food, one dry for mum, and the ot
  10. Glad to hear he's doing better Clever girl that daughter of yours
  11. Well yes, cat litter is. But better the cats use a tray in the house rather than in someone elses garden
  12. Nice looking kits you have there
  13. Heard a story a while ago about a ferret dieing due to ingesting shavings while eating. The owner wouldn't have known what it died of without the post mortem she had done. Turns out it had blocked his intestines and then perforated his gut, poor thing. needless to say, she never used them again. I don't even use cat litter due to the risk of any getting on their food.
  14. Although he's got a cute face, I'm quite sure he'd have the fear factor for guard duty for some....Never forget a workman we had here a couple of years ago. Asked me about the ferrets, so I said I'd get one for him to have a look at. He said "no no, it's OK I haven't got time". I tell you, I've never seen a man move so fast out the door
  15. They're looking superb Rich
  16. He looks like quite a big lad Richie. Do you know how long he is from nose to tail tip? Only ever had 3 hobs, and all of them seem to have been around the 24 inch mark. Mind, I can't remember when I last measured the two youngest. Long time ago, so it might have been before they finished growing. Might have another try later just out of curiosity. This is one of them next to an average size jill.
  17. They're lovely little things. I love watching ferrets having a good old rough and tumble
  18. Kits are looking really good Looks like you've got plenty of rabbits there to keep them going
  19. Glad you've found one already. fingers crossed the other turns up very soon
