Hi there looking for some advice , my 5 month old collie grey basic training has come along great but i cant get her to retrieve she will pick up the dummy then runs away then drops it when she does come towards me she will drop it well before she gets to me ive tried moving away from her ,crouching ,trying to intercept her ,i was thinkig of putting her on a long line and guiding her in would this work i tried retrieve training when she was a young pup but was advised on here to let her be a pup first but i think i have left it abit to long concentrating on other stuff
  3. yeah i am gutted i wanted to take my 8yr old there this season as he is starting to show an interest and all the holes are basicly in the open so it would of been ideal but now ill have to take him to my other permis thats got some bad warrens so ill be spending more time untangling him lol
  4. well i decided to have my first ferreting trip this morning i only work 4 day week now, with little lad being disabled i got wednesday off for his appointments well his speech therapy was at 1 so thought id have a couple of hours out at a local place . This place is only small about 3 acre of rough with a small patch of trees its got 5 or 6 small warrens 5 or so holes and 1 20 or so hole warren theres then a very large wood full of rabbits but i dont have permission there.   9. lol no pal no mates into lurchers just one man and his dog mate lol i think ill just put all my spare time into this pup i waited for my old pup to come along so missed time then a winter while he was a pup then had 1 season and he was great (well was to me but thats what counts) then he got pts now ill miss this winter while my new bitch is a pup i just thought maybe someone might av a very decent dog thats just not made the grade for their needs but would be a good dog for some one else if you no what i mean but i had a think and your right mate id sooner get this pup going than maybe regret
  10. I know i'm nit picking mate but the start of your question says it all for me. No dog to run this season!!! A dog isn't for a season mate, its for life. I know you get fannies on here swapping dogs like panini stickers but don't go down that road. Spend your money on a decent pup, bring it up and this time next season you'll be the proudest hunter on here when your telling us its killed its first rabbit cos of you. your right mate, but i can give a dog a decent home 4 life , i put ive no dog to run this season because my dog got put to sleep in april he was 18 month old i didnt mean it

Hi there ive got no dog to run this season im just wondering how much would you expect to pay for a rabbiting dog not a pup one thats doing the job, ive seen them come up now and again for one reason or another id be lookinf for one thats good on rabbits retrieves and jumps ,obviously there might not be one that comes up for sale im just looking for opinions on what you would epect to be a good fair price
