  1. I might sound really ignorant, but what was the reason for not bringing a camera? It was not very clear Cheers
  2. Should of whipped out the old camera. Or say you dropped your glasses and thought it was a fox
  3. Sorex rat poison. Get the blocked form and not the granulated, as it is harder for the rat to drag away which makes it safe,(It also shows how bad the infestation is) Remember to get the sorex boxes to put the poison in, which are roughly 25 odd off ebay. And ALWAYS WEAR PLASTIC GLOVES Good luck
  4. Great story there There has been a record amount of woodcock on my shoot The past couple of weeks. The place was black with them I guess your getting a good season of both woodcock and phesants down in wales Cheers
  5. If you were supervised at the age of 13 mabey you wouldnt of shot a Blackie. Also there is a big difference between a blackbird and a woodie. Woodies are vermin.
  6. Yes i see your point, i think it is ok for that type of controll. Although i hate to see people lamping phessies up trees shooting them off trees. when there is no skill or no chance of the phesant moving because it is roosting. rant over
  7. I was meaning what shotgun were you talking/asking about. The difference is not to do with the shooting btw
  8. I personally dont see the "sport" in shooting a resting phesant up a tree. Phesants are released for "Sport" aka flying over guns at 40mph. Not dropping a gamebird at heehaw range with an air rifle when it is in the saftey of a tree Just my opinion
  9. I could mabey make it for a one off, But you are abit far away sadly.
  10. Mass_G3nocide, What shotgun are you talking about ? 3 Are Aya's and one is a lincoln,
  11. Started going out lamping with my dad brothers and grandad at the age of about 5-7 Done hide shooting and picking up but cant remember most of it. Then got my .410 and airrifle shooting rats crows and bunnys, (I can still remember taking off my hat and stuffing it in my shoulder because i was so scared of the kick on the .410) My grandad introduced me to his shoots and i have never looked back
  12. It is illegal to shoot phesants with an airrifle. BASC- BIRDS: (covered by the open general licences) crows, rooks, jackdaws, magpies, jays, woodpigeon, collared doves, feral pigeons. MAMMALS: brown rats, grey squirrels, stoats, mink and rabbits
  13. I have both a lab and a retreiver, The lab is more intellegent than the retreiver and is much faster- but lacks a good nose, Labs are very easily trained and very obedient if trained in the right hands they also have a very impressive pedigree and breed history if bred properly. The retreiver is white, from show stock and is rather stupid But i give her, her due she is turning out to be a good worker with an excelent nose, She is very pig headed and does what she wants when she wants but it add's to her character, also retreivers are fairly slow on land and very muscular, love the wate
  14. dont tar everyone with the same brush. ive had over 20 good dealings "over there"
  15. A fox(Vixen) over at the pen.. Which isnt going to last long
  16. They are staying within the law. It take 5ft's of pressure to cleanly crush a rabbit's scull at 30 yard's.
  17. Lovley looking Ess you have their Deek's, The book's were great btw
  18. Yes different breeds excell at different things, ex springers+cockers for working. Labs and goldens for retreiving
  19. I see the question now IMO they are both just as easy to train, But it mainly depends on the dog. Male spaniels have to be nipped young so they know you are the dominant figure-or they will think they own you. Although i think female spaniels are a bit more submissive than males, But it really does depend on the dog or bitch. I know well of both sex's and preffer a bitch Also keep the name short and one syllable Cheers
  20. Jill. my best working springer i have trained
