  7. cheers d.b it sounds as though i need to practice on my calling methods,i wouldn,t care i bought a wooden fox caller but it sounds like a goose trying lay a house brick i must be blowing to hard. now kane that makes sense just keeping the fox to the side of the beam,im try to blind the little critter.do i have to leave the lamp on continuasely or do i keep knocking it off and then call?

  9. now v youv,e missed the boat on a nice little blue broken bitch,it was a 3/4 grey/1/4 deerhound x3/4 grey/1/4 bed she was 18 months old and 25in she was 100%in every way,i seen this bitch work on many occasions and i was impressed every time r/h/f/d. if i had room i would of owned this bitch now but i wasn,t going to sacrifise any of my dogs, anyway the reason i told you about this bitch was the lad whose got it now also has a bull/grey bitch and it,s not getting on with it so the lad said if they don,t settle the new bitch will have to go back to my [bANNED TEXT] so if he does ill give you a

  12. alright mate i have a little 20in bed/whippet 1st x blue dog about 30lbs but he thinks hes 28in and 80lb,hes only had one fox doubled up with my mates bed/grey x deer/grey 12 month old pup but my bed/whip had to do the majority of the work as the young bitch backed off a little as she got a couple of nips. i honestly can,t knock this little cross for ferriting/lamping and day time mouching,i wish i could send you some photos of my little dog but i haven,t sussed it out yet,but if your only hunting the nimble coney this x will be spot on
  13. hi mick, ye they are a keen little bunch, all im going to say about my bed/whippet 1st x for now is hes worth his weight in gold cannot fault him in any way for the rabbiting job that is and the lynnperry whippet dog he is equally as good with his nose and working rough cover,as for the little laguna/sooty sam whippet bitch i think its been here before its just there with the other two hunting up and picking up.to be honest i can not believe how determined the pure working whippet is they have definatley opened my eyes,i would be interested to hear some more views on the working whippet and wh
  14. now baz,i have had saluki crosses for 20 years and to be truthfull and fair you can get saluki crosses which will pick rabbits up on the lamp, mark sets, pull deer down, tackle a fox ect but i think what it is is that a lot of lads dont like the look of for example a 28in skinny feathered dog when hes only going up the moor to put a few rabbits out the rough so they would probably get a collie greyhound or a deerhound or bedlington cross, dont get me wrong i have a lot of respect for the saluki hybrid in the coursing field and other aspects of lurcher work but all im saying is a saluki cross could
  15. alright lads, after having coursing dogs for nearly 20 years i have decided to slow down a bit and just take it easy with a bit of rabbiting day/night,feretting ect,im not old dont get me wrong im only in my mid 30,s its just work and family commitment as i have five kids and work all hours 6-7 days aweek,i know what your thinking i need to buy a tele but every spare minute i get im out with the dogs mouching in one form or an other, its in my blood its very contageous. anyway at the minute i am running a 2 year old bedlington/whippet first cross,a 3 year old lynperry whippet dog and a 10

  18. hi mate i wish i could help you but ive got nothing i want to part with as i am very happy with my camp,i have a bed/whippet 1st x dog, whippet dog and whippet bitch 9 months,lynperry/laguna/sootysam lines but ill keep my ears open, regards
  19. nice looking pups mate,i have a 2 years old lynnperry whippet dog and i cannot fault him in any way,he is bred off kenmillone silver tonge of lynnperry back to a laguna/sootysam bred bitch and also have a little black bitch bred out of the lord of the knight back to a laguna sooty sam bitch actually the two mothers are litter sisters bred directly out of sooty sam, perfect for the rabbiting job,i am going to put the dog back to the bitch next year, should kick some little crackers, regards
  20. hi lads, i have had many different breeds of lurchers over the years.this time last year i had a 3/4 greyhound1/4 bull 241/2 inches,i have never seen a dog as fast in all my life tallying a large no.of rabbits and a handfull of hares,i couldn,t knock her will to please me but i must admit she was to aggresive to kennel up with any of my other dogs so for the saftey of my other dogs she had to go.anyway i also have a bedlington whippet first cross which is 20in to the shoulder and is the perfect mouching companion, very obedient, perfect nose and has also been a very good flushing dog for the loc
