For a quiet dog around the house good with kids and will hunt get a border. worker to worker bred . Whats drawing the rats into your area? get rid of any rubbish or cover strimm back long grass anywhere they can hide. make it hard for them -
Thanks guys had it in my head to take her out with a mate and his .410 and him to have a couple of shots a couple of hundred yard away while i play ragging with her. she loves it and then move ever closer. spoken to a couple of mates about it seems russels are more prone to gun shyness than other terrier breeds.

Hi all,am going down the centrefire rout and have been offered a 22 hornet by a good friend for f*** all. will use it for fox and long range vermin. Is this gun going to suit my needs or should i go for a .222 or .223. don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth but don't want the wrong tool for the job. all comments much appretiated

Evening all , was out today with dogs and gun problem is my young russel bitch has become gun shy. Been out with me a couple of times before no probs gun shot never bothered her hunting up well and marking.This time couple of shots fired early on and she hung back all day wouldn't come when called wouldn't hunt all other dogs fine.Any ways of sorting this problem guys and gals much appreciated. thanks

forgot to say early on about 16 weeks pup was clean. used the crate method then very sporadic couple of days clean then accident and seems to have got worse.

thanks for all the advice . pup is on a mixed diet of raw meaty bones miced meat and dry food when i can't get any meat or bone.she is walked morning and night and then aquick walk round the block just before i go to bed. have changed her meal time but seems to have no effect. thanks again all .will soldier on. any suggestions more than welcome

Hi all repeating this topic in this section as no joy in the training and health section.I have an 8 month old jack pup and cant seem to house train her. Had her from 4 weeks old on the bottle as the bitch had no milk .Usually have no problem and have house trained all previouse pups within a month. She usually does it over night and has now started to take it into her bed and break it up but not eat it.Help needed as misses is getting seriously pissed and dont want to get rid as from seriously good breeding. waited 2 years for this pup. HELP PLEASE

hi all, really need some help. have an 8 month old jack pup and cant house train her. never messes when we are around and generally at night when all asleep . always had dogs and usually can train them within a month.she has nuw started picking it up and not eating it but breaking it up in her bed HELP

thanks guys CV is out there already jobs are tight all over at the moment. have a job as a gardener but thought i could do my pest control training in my spare time to help me get a job or do both for a while and se how it goes.

hi all new to this section.have carried out pest control on farms for a couple of years . no money just favour for a favour type stuff. ferreting pigeons in barns dig the odd fox bit of ratting. all sport really.if i wanted to go the profesional route and more commercial ie wasps roaches moles bird proofing what training would i need and where from . i see the BPCS run courses are these the best or are there different and better training providers. also what insurance would i need. how would i price jobs.sorry for all the questions.thanks for your time all all info much appreciated.

hi bryan,am finally moving on from the old mk 1 system was wondering which system was best for me. i,m not an all out digging man but do my bit .also work cover and blocks of forestry. is there a system i could use to ground and use while hunting cover with multiple collars. also could you give me a price list and a bit of a breakdown of pros and cons of the various systems as price unfortunatly is a factor for me. thank you. input from anyone else more than appreciated. border man
