hi all i have a tikka t3 stainless varmint in 22-250 fitted with a t8 mod and its a good bit of kit. but i must admit when i first got it i had problems with 55 grain bullets and could only get 4 inch groups, but when i switched to lighter 50 grain bullets i was getting 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups with factory ammo at 100 yards that was due to the twist in the barrel not stabalizing the heavier bullets. ive had this rifle for about 2 years now and its bin a 100% reliable.also just had the barrel shortened to make it a bit handier in the truck and havnt noticed any difference in accuracy, but its ma

good going FOXSHOT sounds like you earned them charlies , but hay thats fox shooting ,you only get out what you put in nice to see that ackley nailing them regards NUTSHOT

hello ryesway, i shoot the same combo as you are but i have a reflex t8 mod instead, i zero mine an inch high at a 100 yards and dont need to worry about holding over anything out to about 250 yards. grouping wise i get 3/4 groups at a 100 yards and 2 and a 1/2 inch groups at 250 yards .not the best groups i know but i,m just an average shot who knows his limit and am confident of clean kills at these ranges on charlie . these guns are capable of pinpoint accuracy ,but at the end of the day they are only as good as the person is who is using them all the best , hope this helps regards NUTSH

tikka t3 varmint 22-250 HOW MUCH TO CHOP
nutshot replied to nutshot's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
THANKS baldie . that looks a neat little moderator, looks like it mite be stainless to. mite have to get a closer look at one of those.by the way told you wrong about the barrel length of the t3 its 23 and 3/8 inches long not 22 inches.it also has a 1in 14 twist which is a shame because it wont entertain any bullet over 50 gr's . mind you owd charlie dont complain much. -
nice shooting there foxhunter , and as all ways a interesting read. this is the stuff that makes this site.

tikka t3 varmint 22-250 HOW MUCH TO CHOP
nutshot replied to nutshot's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
thanks for the replys all .BALDIE is there any smaller mods on the market that would help to improve the situation ; balance, length and overall handling. i dont really want to go back to using the gun without the mod for foxing ,because of livestock and houses near my permission and un sociable hours etc . -
HI ALL THINKING ABOUT SHORTNING THE BARREL ON MY T3 , AS THE T8 DOES AGOOD JOB SOUND WISE BUT EFFECTS THE GUNS HANDLING AND MAKES IT TO LONG FOR MY LIKING. LIVED WITH THIS FOR A YEAR NOW,BUT THINK TIME HAS COME FOR THE CHOP.WOULD LIKE TO GO DOWN 3 1/2 INCHES FROM 22 TO 18 1/2 . ADVICE AND EXPERIENCES MUCH APPRECIATED.
