Nice one, cheers for that! Just ordered me a bag, was paying £6 from pets at home for a 3kg bag.

If its kept in the pocket then yeah old bill probly will have a problem with it. But if its safely secured in a fastened bag/rucksack while in a public place then it should be ok. Much like hunting knives, as long as you have a good reason or 'lawful authority' all's well! It's a crackin idea, and looks more than cpable of doin the job, fair play to ya!! atb, Chris

Took it out on Tues for first (propper) time! Set it up in a field of wheat stubble, as soon as we bagged a couple, well out of the way of the main pattern and WOW!!! Me n ma shootin partner have never had a days shooting like it. Honestly, it was pissin down with rain propper miserable day, but we've had so much of it l8ly we just had to get out and thought sod it! Bloody glad we did i can tell ya. It works a treat, ive never seen birds comin in so confidently. Before i bought the magnet, the few t imes we been shooting over standard shell decoys, we would be lucky to bag half a dozen bu

I just bought one from the sportsman gun center. £79.99 for twin arm, battery, speed control and about 40 yards of cable, BARGAIN!! It's a bit bulkier than i would have liked but you cant have it all for that price. I phoned up SGC at around 11am on the thursday morning and it had arrived by 7.30am next morning, excelllent service. Cheers, Chris

I pluck majority of breast feathers too. First thing my poley does tho is crunch n chew on the head. Obviously a bit of grey matter is quite a delicacy for her  lol

Hi all! Has anybody had any problems with feeding their ferts whatever they shoot? All the rape round this way has bin cut recently, the woodies are rife on the stubble and my phones going bonkers lol. Next down is the Barley so time to dust off the decoys and cammo. Now most of what i shoot goes in to the most amazing Pigeon Pate but im hoping there will be lots left over If i give the left over birds to my ferrets would the shot content affect them? I've given them the occaisional pigeon whole and after watchin them scratch n scrape the feathers out they seem more than willing to st

Try soaking it in hot water to soften the biscuits, obviously drain and allow to cool before feeding. I do that for mine when i run out of fresh kills and they wolf it down! I think it must be the smell, it really is pretty rancid lol probly why they love it so much! ATB, Chris

what is the most rabbits you have got in one day
Chrissy_1984 replied to cameron's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Most i have ever had is 1, earlier this year, well before i got my babies! Three of us, one workin ferrets while me and mate were wielding shotguns! I was on one side of hedge and my mate was on t'other, about 2 minutes after entering the first Jill out popped the coney, no more than 15yds from where i was standing. A snap shot with the top barrel at full choke with a 32g HB Pigeon shell provided me with a nice bag of, errrrr..........minced Rabbit Nothing else showed for the rest of the day, other than a couple of pigeon in the wrong place at the wrong time Needless to say i hope to h -
Hi all, Just thought i'd post an update. As your probably aware i picked my trio of kits up last sunday and after some thorough handling and general playtime they have now stopped nipping completely, favouring a good old lick much to my relief! I was begining to look like a self harmer at the start of the week, with all the scratches and bite marks up my arms lol. They are all doin really well and are turning out to be some right little characters. Sandy, the lighter jill is a belter. She's learnt her name quickly and is always first to show when called. Baillie, the darker sable/pol

certainly cant wait biffa! First port of call is my clay club, there a couple of small burries either end of the skeet range and under the clubhouse (bit undecided of latter as would prove impossible to dig em out if need be) so hopefully that'll give em a taste of things to come, bloomin conies are decimating dave's plants n boy does he want rid. I deffo had the best three. 13 kits in total n the rest were all pretty much all white! I gotta say tho the hob is my fave, stunning colour and so placcid already, the two gals r nippy lil buggers! Just outta curiosity food wise, im givin em -
Finally got them home, they have settled down really well! eatin, drinkin n shittin like there's no tomorrow lol Jill no. 1: Jill no. 2: And finally my Hob: Oh and just coz they look cute as hell lol: So there we are, my lil bundles of joy, soon to be supreme rabbit bolting machines (he says!) Next on the agenda, Netmaking!! Take care, Chris

hehehe funny you should say that! i went back to work today after havin to weeks off to sort out hutches, carry box n other jobs that needed doin and guess what i found lying in the yard........ .......yup all the said conduit i could fit in me paniers!! oh well bit late for it now, but at least they got some nice long play tunnels for in the hutches lol!! I might even get some more tomorrow n bury it under some top soil for a makeshift bury so they can practise the old hunting game

Nah its not one of them, did look at the pipes your are on about but decided they were too flimsy. It's some sort of connecting pipe thingy i think it was called a pan connector or somethingso maybe somethin to do with the dunny? Its solid corrugated pipe, bloody wants to be for what i payed for it! I initially wanted some of that Corrugated conduit, the blue industrial stuff but couldnt find it anywhere other than in 50m rolls, only needed a couple af feet as ya can see!

cheers folks, cant wait to get em settled in! this last few weeks has dragged on like no ones business!!

yup, ive been out with ferrets twice in my life, once with harris hawk n second time with shot guns! was superb sport and amazing to see the ferts at work, i just had to get me some of my own. Gonna wait till either CLA or Midland game fairs to stock up on nets n other bits and bobs. Or i might try my hand at making some of my own.
-
Im impressed mate you certainly thought of the ferts before you jumped in.Is that a rabbit shack hutch? certainly is! 2 of, bottom one i got off fleabay and top one was a freebie off my pals that are giving me the kits Although it did need a bit of modifying as the run underneath had no base, doh! Was all good fun though, and kept me out of mischief i dont think i did too bad considering its the first time i have picked up a saw since i left school 8 years ago .oO(god im gettin old!!)

Hiya, I'm relativley new to this forum and although a keen shooter im a complete novice at ferreting and i must say i cant wait to start! My kits will be ready within the next week or so, so here is my attempt at, hopefully, a ferret heaven for them: I also had a go at making a carry box for my upcoming days in the field: Its been great fun researching and reading up on keeping/working ferrets and i cant wait to put it all in to practise. I'm going to put my all in to helping my babies to reach their full hunting potential, not to mention filling up the freezer with conies h

Hiya, I bought myself a new Lanber Sporter Delux at the end of Feb. It's my first shot gun as i only got my ticket a week before buying it! The gun is superb it fits me perfect and shoots like a dream. I went for the 30" version and i love it to bits and was pretty chuffed with the price too (£600 with free gun slip). It handles perfect in the field when pigeon/rough shooting which is my main use for it, although it does feel rather lengthy on the skeet range. Having said that im getting consitent scores with a PB of 19 (i'm still a learner ;-)). I really like the multi-choke and select

Thanks for the advice guys! Im back at work Thurs so will get him to bung his squiggle on the back for me then i can send it off as soon as! Cabinets' ordered and en-route. Just keep my fingers crossed that Plod says yes Any pointers on a first gun? I've been using a Berreta at the club for last few weeks and gettin on really well, but theres not a chance i can afford one of those. Was looking at few Baikels they seem more in my price range, any body used/ own one if so what are they like? I'll be mostly shooting clays with the odd days decoying when i get some more permissions under my
