  1. Very well said but they will always percieve all the pests as cutes little animals that need "public help", it's outrageous. But you can see the outrage now can't you? Good old Jo Blogs will be stirring all sorts of c**p about how these animals have rights and need protection whilst everyone forgets that we have troops out wherever dying like chess pieces for our useless government. 2. Due to time issues I am gutted to say that I am yet AGAIN having to rehome Brynn. He is an exceptional dog and although not pointing properly yet, he works cover extremely well. He is a very demanding dog and will work for several hours without losing concentration. He is house trained as he lived in the house for 12 months, good with other dogs and cats and any animal and has been kenneled for about 6 months. He will work any sort of cover - nettles, brambles, grass, water, bushes and will always flush anything that is in there. I have a thread on him on the International Falconry
  3. Just thought I would start a new topic... What do you fly and has that affected the type of dog that you chose? Has how you fly your bird(s) also affected the dog you use? Do you use a Pointer? Spaniel? Or a flushing Dog? ATB Jen
  4. Hey all, I'm 19 and absolutely LOVE my hunting. Into terriers, lurchers, guns, lamping, anything... Been into about 5 years now and totally addicted. At the moment i've only got my ferrets and a falcon. I pick my Harris up at the end of the month. I have had terriers and lurchers but not had the time for a while so not got any dogs going now. Would love another terrier and another lurcher but dad wont fall for it so just got out with mates watching theirs. Nice to see plenty of you on here.
  5. 5 month old Albino Hob Ferret for sale. Only hob left from my summer breeding season. His dad is an albino hob and mum is an albino greyhound ferret. There were five ferrets in the litter, one jill and four hobs. I have kept the jill and the smallest male but unfortunately this little chap is left after being let down by a guy who apparently wanted a couple but decided to only take one. I haven't had him out working but have had both the brother and sister out and they are crackers! Both of them are very determined workers and will work a bury until it is empty. Both the parents are hard w
  6. Thanks for all your comments folks, really appreciate it This is just an update on Brynn which I am really pleased about. Was walking home with Brynn on friday with him walking to heel off the lead quietly to see if we could find anything. I saw a cock pheasant wander across the path in front of us at about yards so I told Brynn to get on, he wandered in front rangeing about 10-15 yards and we walked about 75 yards when he picked up the scent. He retraced the pheasants movements, going round in circles to make sure he had got the right scent. He traced it into some long grass an
  7. Yes that was my thought, to be honest I would quite like him to be quite small but with the working capability of a GWP. ATB Jen
  8. He is now 20 weeks old and doing really well. As you can see from the pics, he has GWP markings but has the behaviour of your typical nutcase of a springer spaniel. He is sitting at any distance and will stay until told to get on. He retrieves anything thrown for him and leaves as soon as told. He is walking to heel on the lead and off the lead to the HEEL command. Have just applied for my SGC which will be arriving within the next two weeks which will mean I can get him out used to the guns I have got him livestock safe over the last month with everything, he has deal w
  9. Hmmm i know who you are! :)

  10. Hi NS, You have a lovely dog there and please do keep me posted, will be interesting to see how our dogs differ. ATB Jen
  11. Just an update , Thought I would let you know I have named him Brynn , he is now 14 weeks old and doing well. Been working on Brynns heelwork as this is quite important to me having obedient dogs on and off the lead. He is doing extremely well but sometimes forgets himself as can only be expected at his age. I dont make him walked completely to heel but do expect no pulling on the lead. I walk him on a slip lead so he knows when it tightens round his neck he is doing wrong and gazes up to catch my eye. Sitting is proving a milestone as he can quite competently sit when he wants to but
  12. Good to see you had a good day with the terriers Cant beat a spot of ratting to keep the dogs keen ATB Jen
  13. Looks good fun I've always debated using my ferrets on rats, looks good sport! ATB Jen

  16. I have a 14 week old ESS x GWP Currently behaving like a nutter of a spaniel but has the markings of a GWP with the hairy bits I am soon to be investing in a shotgun so it will be handy to get him retrieving and flushing rough quarry. I fly birds of prey so I would love to try and get him pointing and flushing without chasing, and would love to get him working closely quartering. I realise that obviously its quite a mix of the breeding but I have been told it is more than possible that he will do it all. I am not going to rush him at all. Hes perfect on recall and learning to sit. Tha
