Just to enlighten you on the treatment of hares by coursing clubs. No coursing club man likes to see hares getting killed it happens very rarely nowadays due to muzzles longer slips and healthy hares.dogs will not be slipped unless the hare is in perfect health. All hares are treated and dosed for worms and other parasites by vet.Hares are all tagged and can only be ran once.Your criticism seems very rich from somebody who boasts in an earlier thread about shooting a hare.I would imagine a hare has a much better chance against two hounds being the superb athlete that he is than against an experi

I find it very strange that any hunter would want another mans sport banned . Now i dont know all the facts but the hares look quite contented in there pens and i am sure they are looked after quite well since they are needed for the sport. Dont know percentages but i would imagine a great number of the hares live most days as they have an escape route and the dogs are muzzled. whats strange?these greyhound cnuts net these hares from their natrual habitant, and use them for imo barbaric so called sport, and you say wild hares look content in their pens, are you on acid???this is a hunters si

You have it wrong.Ignore the first bit with the dogs coursing that has nothing to do with the hare involved. Was talking to the powers involved today. The hare is in the inclosure being well looked after as they are.The hare was fed something thru the wire and a noose put around his neck to fool people that the Coursing people are been cruel to hares. This video was giveing to Gormley to fight his case to ban coursing two weeks ago but has back fired. The guards are involved and the culpits involved are identified at this stage by the Guards. So it should get very interesting.

I never realized digging men were so silly back then(my self included)that we knew no any better.Anyone i ever seen digging frantically was because he was afraid his dog was going to come out.As for people on videos showing the art of digging dont judge any generation by a few morons those people are in every generation.Their is NO ART TO DIGGING that is brawn the art bit is in being able to find the dog in big deep rambling sets(not a mean feat for people who didnt know any better)As for the man talking about a mouthfull of charlie thatis not a mute dog.Any dog worth his salt should have a mo

i heard this thing time and time again seems a lot of kennels followed this fashion and imo did a lot of harm to the breed by giving up on them.pitts are good dogs but SBT for me always has been and always will be So did i and none of it was true.I always considered a WELL bred staff a more game dog for all jobs. a good dog is a good dog no matter whats behind it, what lines, dogs do you consider are the best ones?or produce the best well bred ones? I always worked and bred cuilleog and C F dogs and found them game to a fault at everything. i only know what i have read

Do you know that from experience or hearsay.Because from experience not hearsay i have seen plenty of staffs who were more than substitutes for a well bred American Pitbull.

Fair play to the Yorkshire men for using a bit of initiative in these recessionary times and exporting their badgers to Ireland.Iguessed as much as i dug one last week and i did not understand one word it said.

Anyone kept a line going?
liamdelaney replied to Big bald beautiful's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I have done much the same i have the same line for over thirty years.I put some of them up here a few months ago.We kept two different lines and crossed them as we saw fit. Most of them were hard(some very hard). They were bred from badger digging stock by the man who gave us both lines many years ago.All we ever called them was fell terriers at this stage they are gone very tight(mabye to tight). We done one out cross and it was disaster. We kept every one of the pups and ended up putting them all down.We reckon the wrong dog was put on the bitch when she was sent to a FRIEND to be mated. That was -
