    No rush give them to much to early and as a rule they throw in the towel(who could blame them)When i was young I ruined plenty of good stock by putting them in at eight nine months on foxes.When we could badger dig I liked to keep them at foxes at the start until they got a bit street wise and build up there confidence,most were nearly two before they were put with the grey lad(but it was very tempting to try them earlier)Slightly of topic I once gave a staff to a man for trials it was three years old and never seen nothing(pet owner died)I told the experienced trial man his age and he said ,

    It goes in runs like that,nearly lost a six year old bitch the same way three weeks.One year not to long ago we lost five dogs to ground,its a fickle game we play.

    Went out Christmas day two years ago for a ramble at ten o clock,and got home at eight that night afer a tricky dig,no dinner and no drink.Misses was not amused,never again.

    What size are your pups making liam,the bitch i have is just like the lakeland apart from the front legs been very strong. They are just coming a nice size Fatman both look more like the mothers size but they will be very strong.I have the bitch pup back because of the bit of hassle my buddy had so that suits me fine I will hold the two of them.

    First cross are usually very hard.Second cross(quarter)should not be as hard(i have two of them.Third cross(1 eight)are game little dogs.If he wants to go down that road if he crosses i eight back to 1 eight they he should be good little dogs.This is what a lot of old timers done years ago I worked loads of them most were little killers.Some came to greaf on badger but they could kill foxes all day long.
