  1. If trials came back(which they wont Thank God)Eighty percent of the people from this site would not be let in to the County, never mind the field.
  2. There is a lot more dirt out there now, because locators make it simple find him in two minutes dig down in twenty simple. Then sell the pups as workers.
  3. i totally agree with you . but each type you have mentioned are all working . i ment really with the bull x type working or not should i of put , or even staying till dug reagrdless of the way they work To answer your 1st question,no i think a good well bred staff has as much hunting drive as any terrier and secondly if the terrier you put the bull across is lacking gameness then why breed it in the 1st place.I have a 4 year old staffxpatt that has worked almost 3 seasons and has always stayed the distance till dug to.He is halfx and his way of working is not everybodys cup of tea but i g
  4. It appears they are more common than we think.

  9. If thats what you think tommy then you obviously have not seen a good dog work badger {pre ban of course}. A good terrier wont let a badger run past it but if a badger really really wanted to get through he would! Not if the dog in front of it was bred the right way and able to up the gears when push comes to shove, its the last few min of any dig that tests a terrier, the break through, thats when they need that extra gear imo,all back in the good old days when it was all legal, will we ever see them days again or will the polliticions kill our sport forever. No we wont Donie, the cowboys
  10. A friend of mine who knows the country side well and has hunted all his life, his wife lost the dog on a walk near their land at eight o clock last wednesday evening. He went out searching for the dog, heard him at three in the morning going wild in a wood, in he went and came face to face with a wild boar tusks and all. This man i would trust his word as gospel.Has anybody else seen any?

A good terrier wont let a badger run past it but if a badger really really wanted to get through he would! the secret is to breed a terrier that really really really really really wont let him pass.
  12. Mart plenty of people dug with dogs like this back then i had one or two myself, they were good little dogs to a point but like i said you had to get down quick and block behind the dog as most would not hold the badger if he ran at them,so for starters they could only be dug in shallow places so you could get to him quick. And yes they were dug day in day out but only in handy spots which suited a lot of people, but that was their common fault.Looking at that dog of yours I think it would let the badger pass(mabye im wrong)He is also getting dug in a very shallow place is this because you do no
  13. This is not knocking YOUR dog you are happy with him(it is my opinion)I dug badgers with my father and uncle's when it was legal. When we dug with a dog like this if you got time to open up before he moved, the first thing you done was block the pipe behind the dog because he would run at the dog the dog runs out and badger gone.It is the common trait of a bad badger digging dog.Alot of times badgers just look at the dog in a stopend and let him bark away(this is all new to them)But when you get the other kind that are not amused with the dog coming into his sitting room, a dog of that pedigree
  14. There must be some duck egg's as well if they cant see that from a picture and from what he is saying as well I agree, the picture has nothing to do with it,would the mans description of the digging traits of the dog not tell people the true story?
