  2. There's plenty of good books out there on keeping ferrets, try your local library if you don't want to fork out for a book. Try and get a good understanding on ferrets before you even consider purchasing your ferrets, sounds like you have a lot to learn!! HAppy reading
  3. I picked up a really good quality roll fom b&q, it wasn't the cheapest but it is very strong and rust resistant, should last a long time

  7. Excuse my ignorance but how does is spoil the dogs whether they sleep on a sofa or sleep in a shed? My dogs are house dogs not used for hunting, but given the chance they would take a deer no problem!! That is what they were breed to do, why does their living condition affect their working ability? I would like to hear peoples opinions on this, my terriers are rabbiting/ratting dogs and stay outside in a kennel but due to limited space I am thinking about getting rid of the kennel and allowing them free roam in the garden and letting them sleep in the kitchen. Does anybody think that by
  8. Manda, Manda, Must have tried every place within a 20 mile radius of fencehouses, spent 2 full days last week driving round, managed to get a new permission to do some ferreting on a small farm so not all bad but it's the ratting I was mainly after for the terriers, I won't give up however, like somepeople have already said I am probablys gonna have to go further afield. Cheers Macca
  9. Might give the allotments a go Pointer, just didnt think that they would hold enough rats to warrant giving them a go. But I suppose it wil be better than nothing which is what I've got at the mo!
  10. Cheers people, Still no luck, I must have tried at least 50 farms/ piggerys in the area. I'll keep on trying tho, the terriers are going crazy for some work!! How far do you think I am gonna have to travel before I actually get some permission?
  11. its roker pier, sunderland Thought I recognised that pier mate, I love going down in the summer with the rod and feathers for a bit of macky bashing!
  12. Hey Guys and Gals, I have just recently lost my regularly ratting permission on a local farm due to new ownership and was wondering if any body out there knows of any decent places around the durham area to go ratting with my two terriers, Ive tried all the usual avenues of knockin round doors but to no avail, I didnt realise how hard it was to get new permission to hunt a few rats!! Cheers
