geneology line breeding????
francolin replied to coneycatcher17's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
hello, good line breeding in combination with inbreeding would be f.ex. uncle to nice or nephew, or half brother half sister breedings and then back to the ancestors or dogs that also come from the ancestors lines. linebreeding is in my oppinion the only way to keep getting constant percentage of quality offspring, of course when the individuals themlselfes are first class working dogs and do not have undesirable traits which one can see only at working them. also in other working dogs and animals linebredding and loose inbreeding is the key, with at one point necessary outcross to anot -
110% right breed from game lines try to edge your bets so to speak , the tryed and tested dogs surely throw higher % of grafters even then its fingers crossed hope for the best where working dogs are concerned ,some of them show dogs never get chance to show there potential, in the field

IMO. 1 Plummer terriers are ridiculed thanks to DBP.being openly disrespectful for the past 20 years ..to those owners of other breeds. 2 The % of failed earth working Plummers would be the same as any other breed, of working terrier, if we looked at the statistics considering the numerical numbers of plummers 1000 since 1994 not a lot !..compared to all the other breeds. 3 I have owned, bred, entered and trained earth working plummer terriers both pre ban and "now" .some of my "now stock " work in ireland, where it is easier to find and work quarry but is actualy a harder enviroment to

just what i thought while reading this post.never heard of any lines of plummer terrier with high % of usefull earth dogs been produced are they kept secret passed between close diggin pals for free ect, or is the % of good plummers produced quite low with regards to earth work, they seem to excel at ratting from what i am told but i have no experience of the breed.

FT uve got to judge to a standard there seems to be any tom dick and harry judging now not people who hav been in the game years who breed a good strain ov dog who has plenty ov expeirance and nos wat there looking for Tom, Dick or Derek do you mean? Cheeky twat, that bloke has forgotten more than most will ever know, he'd be my first call for any advice that's for sure. I bet you didn't say it to his face did you?? Typical ............ run away quietly then come on here tryi
