    I dont think they had any other choice.I have had a walk on the same land this morning and for such a small area it USED TO BE heaving with hares now most of the old poachers have got permission and shotgun certificates and now theirs feck all not been around there for years but always plenty of hares near the church ,when i was a kid always took lurcher whrn the ecclesfield beagles had a meet ,moved away but grew up round that area happy days.

    we always seem to get a good turn out of antis--good day to get themselfs on tele..13 guest where reading this thread earlier i wonder why ... although most anti groups will know where all the hunts are boxing day.. they know where all the hunts meet and they know which not to bother , shame they dont put energy into finding some work most are lazy dirty txxxts ,i have spoke to the odd decent one but most are anti anything there mates are in to out of touch with real world, sorry for ranting on happy hunting all.

    if truth be told without box there can be a lot of tunneling ,trenching deep sets in sand a fxxxxing nightmare, give it a go ear to ground mark spots if you hear action when its a steady mark try a dig keep probing bar in for tube,as said sometimes a mute dog can be located but sound does travel different in diff terain, GOOD LUCK PUT COLLAR ON INCASE

    It is not question of age. How many times do you use? Maybe an old dog hasn't seen as many game as the other young one. would you say it also depends on terrain, earths ect.plus all game are different as regards to how they react to a terrier to ground so which is the better dog the dog dug to many times but easy spots or one that does well when the odds are not in its favour quality first not the number of digs imo and its only a opinion so nobody throw the dummy out a proven dog should nt be worked in only easy spots. the dog should have worked consistenly and i mean being dug t
