  1. thought that would be the case ,but in fairness no shot would be simple for me I am cxxp with a gun, don't know the area is it all moorland ,
  2. all smiles ,looks like you all had a good day there,i did look expecting to see a mountain of hares, but was pleasantly surprised .as you can guess I know nothing about shooting/guns,do hares provide any good shooting/shots as would high birds ect ,or is it just control, management, not havin a go ,just wanting to see it from a shooters point of view, atb.
  3. are these days fact or fiction ,3oo hare days ect,and then they recover after each breeding season, plus all the others taken by other means./predators,starting to wish they had hare drives nr us if there that good for the population.do foxes come back in large numbers were the rifle boys take massive numbers of cubs and adults.
  4. Paulus the numbers game aint fine in my book ,with any type of hunting /shooting, just don't like the mop the lot up mentality, except possibly when rattin, :laugh:must stress only my opinion ,folk do what they are happy with, atb.
  5. just to say thank you mate,my lad asked me to pass on his thanks ,he don't go on hear,i still didn't make it down, dont know if he told you but we having it a bit rough at home at moment but I will get down your way at some point, atb.and thanks again from all the lads, sorry forgot cap lock CWN-HELA
  6. a shot hare or fox for that matter is a disgrace,in my opinion it is disrespectfull to such fine animals, the slaughter of these large numbers is sickening, dont get why folk take pleasure in shooting big numbers of fox with rifles, sad, sorry for going off topic.
  7. don't worry gnasher I have kept them 40 odd year and one of my pairings is suspect , :laugh:down to me not putting much time in the shed this year, due to other commitments, hope you do well this season.
  8. just paired up put pans in and they are straight in them, was going to wait while end of month, still think weather might spoil the job with some frost, just keep fingers cross atb,
  9. taz know what your saying watching the birds is best indicator ,mine would go to nest ,they are fit enough the hens are carrying material but i like to start a bit later when its cold,i have no lighting on but the cocks are feeding the hens when slides are open a bit in the double breeders, think i will let them together end of month.
  10. so as it says do you lads prefer extending day light hours with lights or go with natural light ,some seem to start breeding season early, mine are held back ,due to it been coldest place on earth still in a morning, just been out and we got a keen frost today.atb.
  11. for what its worth I no this man and if he says its a fox dog that's what you will be buying ,so buy it and try the dog,but don't mess him ,you would not want a clip round the ear from him atb.
  12. any pics mate, sorry I could not resist
  13. next season could be his year mate, the penny might still drop.depends on what hes been through and from what age .might be worth keeping a touch longer atb.
  14. the naturals are nice for the feet and look ok ,but plastic easy to keep spotless and less places for the mites to hide ,do agree they do look clinical in the birdroom atb.
