hello ferrets can start behaveing like this if you rush or try to grab at them when thay come to the mouth off a whole you should pick up the ferret slowly and calmly many ferrets get this problem when people are lunging a them whch makes them reluctant to come out i have bought many ferrets over the years that work fine and are very tame but have the same problem as yours due to being messed up by the learner ferreters grabbing at them . as for intiseing the ferret out with a rabbit it will work for a while but the ferret soon comes wise to this and in my opinion only makes it worse wh

Good point! Are you doing things right when the ferret is in the hole? You know, things like staying dead quiet, staying out of view of the holes, not smoking, not walking round etc. No disrespect intended though! good advice maltenby keep quiet dont talk while netting up stay out of view of the holes the more noise you make above ground the more reluctant thay are to bolt as for the hob i think thay can lay up more because off there size thay can hold rabbit much easier than a small jill but i have had small jills that lay up just as much as a big hob keep up the good work
