Upon eating rabbit for the first time

be sure to remove the scent glands these are either side of the tail bone and are a greeny grey coulour.as said above soak in salt water overnight 2 table spoons of salt. rinse well.simmer for 15 minutes in plain water.brown the meat in the frying pan and brown any of your vegetables if you want to then put in a slow cooker as a stew or curry is nice then cook until the meat nearly falls off the bone and there is no more rubbery texture to it.this may take a few hours but i have found the easyest and nicest way to cook rabbit!good luck -

Moderated SG's are becoming more available but I've never used one.....are they good..moderation wise, what about balance??? i got a 12g single barrel moderated hushpower with subsonic cartridges it does the job on rabbits out to 30 yards at least and doesnt really damage the meat for the table.also use it for foxes with normal super sonic cartridges and it still greatly reduces the sound.hadles fine once you get used to it.

i have a 9 month old greyhound/whippet who i have been using to retrive to the shotgun on rabbits.i tell her to stay then walk over to the rabbits shoot one then send her to get it but recently she has started running in as soon as the shot is fired instead of waiting to be sent!any advice please?also before she used to bring the rabbit to me if i called her after she had picked it up but now she runs about with it in her mouth playing with it.if i call her sweetly she ignores me and if i call her harshly she drops the rabbit then comes back!help please

hi i just had a litter of one jill and two hobs.i have two adult jills also.i am going to keep the jill kit but was wondering if the hob kits would be worth keeping for working? are they as good for working as jills? can the males live together with the jills happily year round?thanks!

nothing wrong with shooting instead of an injection just as humane if not more so. i know which one i would prefer!

bsa say that generally premium quality domed head pellets are the most accurate in their guns but barrels differ even within the same models even if made one after the other so it is just a case of experimenting with different pellets and trying to find the one that you can shoot most accurately with.
