  1. take my hat off to you you shifted some muck there.....how many of you were digging mate..?
  2. better off getting a yappy type of terrier for your bushing mate, like as been already said, gives you an indication in cover when there is something about,a silent dog you always on the look out for increase in speed of the dog when theres something about,me and my mates use a beagle or 2 when out beating cover, great when there a few of you out as you can stop them iff you miss your quarry, terriers can be hard work at times,a beagle might break your heart......

just thought i would put this up as a pat on the back to all that were involved this weeks countrymans weekly have an article on some of the efforts of forum members of the old hh site who went out of there way to raise money for a young girl who suffers with spina bifida....a full story on page 26 of this weeks cmw....
  5. a near 40 pound mirror that fell to three 18 mil boilies,to avoid the bream ..all the 3 boilies were put in a tub and soked in the lake water for a day or 2 to give them a slightly washed out effect....found this to be quite effective on heavilly baited waters...the soaked boilies give the impression that the bait as been in the water for a very long time, hence a feeling of safety,an example, everyone re-baits at dawn and just before dusk, always a fresh bait used, sometimes something a bit different can bring you a result.....
  6. what type of water are you fishing..?iff there a lot of nuissance fish in there..ie small fish you want to avoid when after carp, try a boilie or a large pellet,or even tiger nuts that have been well prepared, this is assuming you have not got certain "bait bans" on your water.!!iff there is certain bait restrictions on your water, give the plastic pop up corn a try
  7. go to the news and info thread, there is a post on there under important topics...gives you infomation on how to go about it

navara is a reliable old truck, iff your looking for a model around the 51 plate, they were the heaviest on juice, the next model they brought out, they upped the break horse in them by 30bhp also giving better fuel consumption,as for the new model,i honestly couldnt tell you much, you looking around 30 to the gallon...
  10. just having a browse through a few photos of my fishing days, before the misus and kids came along :11: used to travell great distances then in search of big fish, these days fish of this size are a lot more regular ,and more widespread,i hear of a lot of big fish are now being imported into the country, but apart from the imports, what do you think is the biggest contributor to the vast amounts of big fish being caught, changes in bait, water managment..?not just carp, other freshwater spieces, they all seem to be getting bigger..
  11. THEY ARE A BIT ON THE PRICEY SIDE,BUT WHEN I CONSIDER ALL THE MK1 DEBEN COLLARS AND BOXES I HAVE PURCHASED OVER THE YEARS,I COULD HAVE EASILY BOUGHT A B+F AND HAVE CHANGE...BEST BIT OF KIT ON THE MARKET BY FAR,AND DONT BE PUT OFF BY THE SIZE OF THE COLLAR
  12. everyone to there own on this one, mine personally stay on the couples, leaving them to run loose in this day and age can ,and will lead to probs....i have my own small shoot, and have permission on many more, terriers running loose around pheasants etc...my head would be on the chopping board :11:
  13. been keeping lakies for a number of years now, what i just read in this post could happen to any of the terriers we use today, there failures in all of them, pats, lakies, russels whatever...its the way it is,iff i didnt happen we would all have super dogs some folk have great success with a certain breed, and who can blame them for not changing, iff it aint broke ,dont fix it....got to agree with stevieD a lot of the lakies i seen need holding back....nothing like seeing a young terrier showing keeness to go about what its bred for,its as we all know, then up to the owner to pick the right momment..
  14. yeah mate shit quality photo shit quality dog ,i have yet to see a russel that would go to ground they are even weary of rats. do yourself a favour and get a decent terrier like a border ,they might be three times the price but you get what you pay for init i cant believe i just read that, best laugh i had for ages.....a classic :11: :11:
