  1. My husbands labs. (Okay so 4th picture does have his flattie in it!)
  2. I received the email about these dogs last night. Am going to print a poster out and put it in my shop (animal feed shop) and give my other half a poster to take to the shoot where he goes picking up. Have attached a picture that came with the email I was sent. GBM
  3. Found Monday Morning. Lost a bit of weight (expected with the cold weather and snow!) and has a couple of deep cuts on leg but on the mend!
  4. HI GUYS HOPE SOMEBODY CAN HELP ME! YESTERDAY MORNING AT APPROX 8am MY OTHER HALF WAS PUTTING THE DOGS IN THE CAR WHEN MY BLACK COCKER SPANIEL BITCH SLIPPED THROUGH THE GATE AND TORE OFF. HE WENT RUNNING LOOKING FOR HER BUT NO WHERE TO BE SEEN. WE HAD A SIGHTING IN OUR VILLAGE YESTERDAY AT APPROX 4pm. IT WAS AN HOUR AND A HALF BEFORE THEY CALLED US AND WHEN WE GOT THERE NO SIGN OF HER. WITH THE SNOW I'VE MANAGED TO TRACK HER TODAY AND SHE APPEARS TO BE IN AND AROUND FIVE LAKES HOTEL AND GOLF COURSE. I HAVE GIVEN THE MISSING FLYERS TO THE RECEPTIONS AND STAFF THERE AND HAVE BEEN LOOKING ALL
  5. I am training my first gundog at the minute, a 18month cocker bitch. I've got her sitting and staying now, walking at heel on and off the lead and working on the recall whistle which is coming along really well. I started by calling her then using my whistle and then making a massive fuss of her on her return then have progressed to just using the whistle which she now looks to me and either comes or I now just tap my knees and she comes. But I'm unsure how to teach her the stop whistle as she is really clinggy! Any advice? I have the Simon Tyers Cocker Training DVD on my Xmas list so hoping t
  6. I just wondered if anyone knew of any gundog breeders/kennels that often have any part or fully trained Cocker Spaniels for sale in the South East/East Anglia area? Just I am after quite desperately a little cocker bitch and have been contacting kennels but haven't found much yet! Thanks for your help! GBM
  7. Where abouts in the country are you? Have you any left for sale? ATB GBM
  8. Thanks for the reply. She hasn't had any bang to the head that i know of...
  9. I see what you mean about doing the right thing...but my question basically was can a dog JUST have a fit (or two?) and that be the end of it? Or DO they become really frewuent? Will she go the rest of her life without another one? I completely agree that should they become frequent then yes I dont see it being fair on the dog especially giving it drugs which can do more harm than good so yes if the time came I would do the right thing. But now, she hasn't had another one since and i sincerely hope thats the last....but i just wondered is it? As for the meat I get given loads of chicken from m
  10. Will have a look. She lives outdoors so no household cleaners.
  11. I could be excitment/adrenaline which is triggering this. She bunches up before she starts proper fitting then falls over and looks as though she's trying to get up frantically but can't. She dribbles when fitting but not yet wet her self. I checked her gums both times and loads of colour in them still. Her breathing is SOOO heavy during and for about 10 mins after the fit. Then she is knackered from it. What other symptoms are there for epilepsy? Thanks for your reply
  12. No she doesn't get no toys or nothing...only the live variety. lol. We are trying now to do everything possible not to let her stress. As we have an animal feed shop we get sponsored by Pro Plan which is a pukka food. She's always on Salmon & Rice of theirs and we don't change it because she has an allergy to chicken. Thanks for the advice.
  13. She's also had a problem the past few months with eating dry food. It kind of balls in the back of her mouth and she'll pause halfway through then throw up a balled clump of claggy dog food then re eat it and so forth. Someone said maybe she could have a growth or something in her throat which could MAYBE be pressing on a vein or artery and maybe decrease the blood flow to her brain. But spoke to my vets about it and they didn't seem so convinced. They said I coulld get a X Ray done for £40! Would anything show up on it though?? Also about the eating thing I have tried larger size biscuits a
  14. A couple of months ago my 4/5yo Terrier bitch woke me up to her scrapping around in her kennel. I leapt outside to she that it looked like she was ''stuck''. There wasn't anything she could get stuck on as her box part of her kennel is literally a wooden box. So I picked her up and put her on the concrete and she kept falling over and was scrapping with her back legs to get up. She was breathing really heavy too. I spoke to a good terrierman friend of mine and he said she's prob dehydrated as was a really hot day. So I gave her electrolytes and put a fan on for her to keep her cool. Since the
