they do seem very late at opening their eyes ,have a close look and see if there is any dried gunk around them ,you may need to use some cooled boiled water on some cotton wool to remove the gunk carefully just wiping across their eyes from their nose back to their ears

there is quite a few posts on animals having to go because of split relationships ,i just got rid of the hubby and got even more animals

I was born in the 60s in Derbyshire on a little pig farm belonging to my grandad,we also had the usual chucks, ferrets , dogs and the old pony.I used to go out with my grandad ferreting he was a hard man if it didnt work or earnt money then it was a gonner .I left school and worked in a butchers until i was 21 then i moved to a little village in Nottinghamshire ,where i married a miner had two children,i returned back into dogs and ferrets 15 years ago after my divorce ,now my children have grown up i have plenty of time to enjoy my hobby of ferreting

the only way you could tell is to pop them in with them,but keep an eye on the kits .if the kits are about 8-10 weeks old they will be a good size to stand up to any squabbles

i have always gone and sat in the ferret court next to the kits and ive always taken food or a whisked egg for mum and let her get comfortable with you being there before picking the kits up ,she soon gets used to you being there and as the kits get older they get used to you and nibble on you so dont do what my daughter did once when one of my litters was about 5 weeks old ,she went in to play with them with bare feet there was quite a few screams as they all grabbed her toes lol
