    Yeah understand that mate. I know I'm lucky that I do a job that doesn't even seem like work most of the time. Outside, on my own, surrounded by beautiful countryside. I do long hours, often 7 days a week but it's all I've ever wanted. My office today.

    I must admit I do feel sorry for blokes who can't go to work at all. Although a mate commented how he felt sorry for me still 'having' to work. Two different types of people I suppose.

    Yes agreed Bernard, see my above point about common sense. We on here all know that is true. BUT the new rules don't take that into account & imo it's a worrying time when parts of society deem it acceptable to choose which laws they follow.

    Cost of cartridges, cost of petrol etc balanced against a pack of fish fingers from Iceland Don't get me wrong, I love everything about shooting as much as the rest of us. I seriously dislike being dictated to. And I have enough common sense that I know I won't bump into anyone else where i go shooting. But the rules have been put in place for all of us. We can't tweak or cherrypick to suit our own needs. It won't be forever.

    422 people dead. No you won't starve no the shops won't run out of food. Yes we can't do our hobby for a few weeks. 422 people dead. It's not essential for any of us to go out shooting no matter what scenario/hypothesis we come up with to try to justify it. The most vulnerable of our society are at risk. 422 of them have already lost their lives. Just. Stay. Home.

    That's what I quite often tell myself mate. I'll watch flightlines etc and plan to go one day then that morning kids will say "dad can you help me with" or "daddy can we play" and I think to myself, pigeons will be there in 10 years but my kids won't still be asking for me to play with them. So I put my cammo gear away and get dressed up like Cinderella instead!!! ?

    I said something very similar to my missus last night & she called me a paranoid pessimist. I suggested it could have been a man made virus, created in a lab in China. Now it either escaped involuntary or the world powers got together & decided drastic measures needed to address world overpopulation, climate change, world food shortages. Maybe I am paranoid but it could be a worldwide population cull. This is why they are keeping kids at school so they develop natural immunity & just wipe out the old fogeys who've had their time but are living too long costing more in social health

    ^^^^ this. Yep 100% I said to missus other day that govt should be utterly ashamed that, as an island, we let this in. Too much PC at the start about quarantine & border control.

    Making silage last summer bolted a fox with a serious limp, henceforth to be known as Peg. Spent couple early morning on aftermath decoying crows and saw Peg again but no chance of any shot. No sign of Peg since then so thought she succumbed to her injured foot. Until two weeks ago she showed up on one of my trail cams near where grey partridge nested (and failed) last year. Both times on cam it was between 04:40 - 05:30 This is a very flat field with no real backstop but some hedges so I decided to try tuck up in a hedge this morning before 430am. Semi loaded with 36g buffalo BB.

    Yeah, it's the sudden U turn two days go that has ramped up the fear though.

    Beauty of our collective interests on here is how often we do it alone, just get stocked up on ammo!! I was out with semi auto at first light (3 crows & 2 tree rats less) and still haven't seen a single human. Bliss.

    That's what I'm most annoyed about with the whole thing is the way the govt about turn coupled with bbc coverage is whipping people into a frenzy of fear.
